Surrealism with an ATS conspiracy angle and shotgun satire, not for the timid. Very clever and profane scrip by director Boots Riley and fantastic characters that draw you into a goofy world both futuristic and current at the same time. One of the most original and entertaining films I have seen in a long time. And I see alot; Premier theaters honor SAG cards.

What’s even weirder is if you click on his profile icon , none of his profile ever shows... only error. Works fine for everyone else except GBP/JPY . 🤷🏻‍♀️

Saw this a few weeks ago.

Was reminded of several things: elements of Dr. Moreau, Barton Fink, Jacobs Ladder, Eyes Wide Shut, Brave New World, etc.

I think it the use of a slash in the username. The Apache server assumes it is a folder traversal, not part of the name and so it does not find the folder with just a part of the full name.

I just did a search to see if there was a thread on this before starting my own and lo and behold our very own indie film scene insider has quite rightly pipped me to the post...thank you.

I don't know when I will get to see it here in the UK but I am so very, very excited. Mr Boots Riley has long been a hero and inspiration of mine.

Just as his work defies easy classification, so too does Riley himself refuse to be placed in a tidy media narrative. He’s a dedicated radical with the street cred to prove it, a wicked humorist oscillating between surreal satire and gallows slapstick, a rapper alone in a genre he created, an authority on class theory who loves to party, and now, a film-maker wending his way through an industry he doesn’t quite consider hostile territory, but doesn’t trust, either. Messy as the task might be, we’re all going to have to figure out what to make of Riley, because he doesn’t intend on going anywhere any time soon.
