You do realize that what he "revealed" shows nothing negative against Kavanaugh, right?

Now we have to sit through a Trump-bashing speech by Durbin. Blah blah blah lie blah blah blah lie blah blah blah.

Oops. I posted this in the Day 2 thread, but it should have been posted here:

Uh oh...Corey Booker has pulled what he called "his Spartacus moment" and in defiance of Senate rules, has gone and released some 12 pages of emails marked "committee confidential" to the public. He said he is "knowingly" violating the Senate rules. www.foxnews.com...

If the Senators do not take action, this kind of unethical behavior will
just continue. Cory Booker should be investigated for this, did he break
laws, did he violate Senate Rules?

And this man is going to run for POTUS?

Depends on perspective. As far as I am concerned, no. I am totally opposed to Kavanaugh, for multiple reasons. This was just one more log on the fire.

It does reveal that Kavanaugh does not necessarily believe that Roe V Wade is established law, and it mentions that the Supreme Court can overturn precedence. Which it can, but in the section of his testimony regarding gun control and 2nd Amendment, he talked non-stop about the importance and inviolability of court precedent. Then he starts back-tracking on that when it comes to laws and court cases with which he disagrees. Can't have it both ways, Brett.

It is no secret that Trump and Co., spurred on by evangelicals, want desperately to get a tool on the Supreme Court that will allow them to have Roe V Wade overturned, and take us back to the days when news stories were common about women dying from illegal and massively unsafe abortions, performed by whatever quack with a knife is around at the time. I lived through that period, and have no desire to return to it. But the right-wing nut job evangelicals want few things more than to get those uppity women back into more rigid control. And Trump and Co. are their tool for the current attempt, and Kavanaugh is part of that.

There are many reasons to oppose this nomination, this is just one of them.

Oh my Gawd....Durbin, another drama queen. He talks as if the rule of law should be thrown out when dealing with our current duly elected president. If it is about Trump and his actions, the Dems want to just toss out rules.

Three cheers for Sen. Booker.
It's bloody past time that some senator somewhere showed some spine. The US voting public, as members of the Board Of Directors of the US Senate, have the right to know all the details of the legal history of any court nominee, especially SCOTUS.

The GOP has obvious reasons to try to hide this information. It is good that Booker revealed it. Kavanaugh should NOT be confirmed (for many reasons, not just this).

He lied. The papers had already been cleared to be released. You didn’t really think someone in congress especially on the left had a spine , right?

It’s just too easy with you guys.
Here’s a hint, they are politicians. If they had a spine, they would get a real job.

I am very impressed with Sen. Mike Lee's ability to clearly verbalize and lay out in a super-organized way a specific issue. It seems that so many other senators in this confirmation hearing either try to or unintentionally obfuscate or muddy up and mix up a question. So far, try as they might, the Dems have not been able to trip him up.

Have you read the post that said these were cleared for release? Did you read about the email content? Booker is all mouth and the result of a New Jersey Idiocracy and the people who voted for him don't know the history of the DemoKKKratic party.

From a qualification perspective Kavanaugh is likely the most qualified jurist in the last 20 years. He will do what the court is supposed to do which is to ensure that laws are in accordance with the Constitution.

Good job Booker. Guess you dont have to follow the rules if you dont want to, eh? this clown should be expelled.

What Booker did is even funnier considering the emails released don't really contain anything explosive. Certainly nothing worth getting kicked out of the Senate for. It's so transparently just a half-assed effort to make himself look good. But it's the political equivalent of getting yourself arrested for jaywalking so you can say you've done jail time like that gives you street cred.

I believe the emails/docs are/were being withheld just to make the dems look like whining babies. There is nothing in them that is bad and even Bush himself cleared them. Trump was the one that said no.....calculated play likely geared towards releasing the FISA applications and drowning the dems in crap.

This was the dems ploy before the 2018 elections to make the GOP look bad, yet they didnt realize it would backfire in the manner it has/will. FISA apps are about to be released and all hell is going to break loose.

So now I heard that the emails were actually cleared for release, so the whole thing is basically a side show?? this really has turned into a circus.

Correct. Booker was just pandering to the far-left, in preparation for his (destined to fail) 2020 Presidential bid.

He will inevitably be told he can only be the VP because Hillary will run again. We already had a black POTUS....they need a woman now and it doesn't appear there are any standouts. If they dont run a woman, their base which they have geared toward such, will meltdown. At this point Hillary is their only choice to push.

I'm thinking they aren't yet because they are trying to wait to see what comes out on her and Bill in the near future.

Here's what happened with Booker:

1. They had a plan to "leak" the classified docs in Question (Schumer plan) (possibly altered).

2. Chair Grassley found out.

3. Republicans decide to un-Classify the docs.

4. "Lump in Throat" PlanB initiated by Booker.

5. Standard "Choke knee-jerk" tactic.

6. Busted plan jealousy.

No way in hell Hitlery will run again. The dims want to win, and Hillary’s ego and myocardial matter couldn’t stand a third loss. They would pick that young woman who doesn’t know socialism from plagiarism (provided she’s 35) before they picked Killery again. I would take that bet and give you ten to 1.
