That's basically what this person is admitting to. If we take it for face-value that this is legitimate then there are people in the White House who 1) believe the president is so unfit that they've actively considered the 25th amendment (which is a terrifying possibility begging for a constitutional crisis) and 2) they're using Trump to push their agenda and ideology upon the American people through a sort of shadow presidency.

Don’t get me wrong. There are bright spots that the near-ceaseless negative coverage of the administration fails to capture: effective deregulation, historic tax reform, a more robust military and more.

These are dangerous times for our republic.

Yes well put, troubling times ahead that's for sure.

Why not Trump himself? I've heard stories of his tactical geniusnessness...ness.

It does take geniusnessness...ness to come up with this kind of distraction. Its actually quite mediocre. Kids do it all the time; tell a parent a story they know they'll get in trouble for in order to hid something that's even worse.

The real question would be; why does the times keep falling for it? Probably because they dont realy care ether way so long as they sell papers.

It is Fan fiction , get over it, and if it isn't fan fiction it is treason on the highest level to have an unknown, un-elected de facto president stealing documents off the oval office desk .

Treason requires an act harmful to a declared war. There has not been a declaration of war by the US since 1941.

The NY times piece sounds like it was written by a butt hurt 12 year old not someone who is actually on Trump's team. Swamp creatures are not the brightest and they seem to be addicted to treasonous activities.

Whoever wrote this did so trying to make Trump look unstable. I am certain he has some non presidential opinios, and possibly some misinformed opinions, but he appears to be listening to some very qualified advisors that he brought into his cabinet.

If he was actually unhinged advisors would be unable to make any difference. The fact that he is listening and taking their advice on many issues is a sign of a cognitive and stable individual.

That is incorrect. We declared War on Terrorism. We are actually in a perpetual state of war.

But I agree that this doesn't look like a case of treason verse the US as defined by law. But it is a case of treason against Trump as defined by litteral definition.

I keep hearing “treason” thrown about for the conspiracy (a supposed group) trying to use the 25th in a plot to remove Trump.

As Commander in Chief of all armed forces (Navy) it would actually be a conspiracy of mutiny.

Although the idea of Trump grabbing a cutlass to fend of the ringleader in a pirate’s duel to remain captain of the ship strikes me as entertaining.

You don't know what you're talking about. It's not even in the same zip code as treason. Look things up before offering your 'expert legal opinion' and embarrassing yourself. It could potentially be seen as sedition by some but even that is unlikely. If the description of Trump is accurate or if the party had reason to believe that they were 'protecting and upholding the Constitution' even that wouldn't hold. People with actual law degrees have already commented on this.

CNN had a good article that touched on this a bit.

The mainstream media, despite it's reputation among the Right Wing and conspiracy circles, are not complete tabloid trash pushers and have some standards they follow. One of them being that they do not allow for people to use their outlets as a means to bash people for political or personal reasons, unless they are willing to do so with their name attached to their claims.

In this case, for the NYT's to publish this entire op-ed from an "anonymous" source to the public, indicates their source is a very high level individual inside the administration and not some pissed-off mid-level government official with a beef for Trump.

Something like this is a big deal and the ramifications, regardless of outcome, are going to be huge.

So I think you may be correct saying this probably came from someone close to Trump.

It would only be mutiny if the person involved was a member of the US Navy that actively tries to overthrow the authority of the captain of the vessel. Mutiny falls under the UCMJ. So they would have to be a member of the US military.

maybe...just maybe....this is another democrat tactic...Mueller might actually have nuttin' no way to tie Trump tp anything that they can bring charges on. So, just like every other time, the Dems come up with another plan. Everything was riding on Trump being indicted. if that happens to not pan out, they need something else to go on about...

first it was grabbing people by the *&%^,then he was a racist..(funny that he was held in high regard by the leaders of the African American community, even received awards, until he ran against Hillary) then paying hush money to a porn star, then he colluded with russians, then he obstructed justice, now he is mentally unfit again? it really does look obviously desperate.

If all else fails, it's a democrat plot, right?

Maybe, just maybe, the people elected a complete idiot and some people are concerned enough to pull crap like this.

Can you show me the actual declaration issued by Congress?

If you can't find it try looking next to the ones they issued on drugs and poverty.

My toilet paper holder was made from the remains of the Roswell mothership.

Does that make me the ruler of the universe?

Trend?

No.

You are pointing out unfounded conspiracy. No need to get my panties twisted over something you just made up.

And don't say you're sorry. You're not. Don't lie.

Correct. Trump could be an idiot. That could be true.

But let's stick with your conspiracy.

Ok.

I hereby decree that all healthcare is "universal".
