Do you think they didn't show up because of Trump's comments? I think they chose not to come on their own. A political hit piece is usually unverified or salacious reports. This seems verified and accurate to me.

Perhaps they had a full schedule.

Maybe hit piece was not the best word for a set up.

People dislike Trump for a variety of reasons, and that's their right. It's not up to google what people see and don't see.
It's their company and if they'd like to declare "we will promote anti-trump vs pro-trump search results" Fine. Don't act like your not.

What do you do when the majority of Americans (including ones that work for the media) don’t agree with or like Donald Trump?

Do you let these people write what they want and publish what is written? Or do you bring big government into it to try to force companies such as google to alter their search results to spread positive messages about the president?

Because that’s what you’re fighting for.

You’re being told you’re fighting against the same things the people you support are trying to do.

Ok I did misread that, but could it be they put up an incompetent lawyer to achieve the same result. I just don't see google not having 10-12 lawyers (just on hand). They couldn't manage to find one senate would approve. They're dodging.

The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence intentionally set up a unoccupied seat to shame Alphabet at Wednesday’s hearing on foreign meddling in the 2016 U.S.

Well the one thing to take away from this is googles FU to the gov't which only reinforces what many suspect. The gov't works for the Globalist Corporate Behemoths and not the other way around.

You let the people speak on their own, from both sides. You don't steer the message either way. Most of the people do support the president, but based on manipulated search results most people believe otherwise.

I just love how the repubs now not only buy into the russian meddling but now support efforts to shore up the platforms that are accused of being manipulated.

Funny how there was no mention of google being used in the election meddling but now repubs believe that google results are left leaning so they want to regulate search results in the name of russian collusion.

For better clarification...

Does anyone have any examples of google wrong doing or improper search results?

It would help to understand what is happening here if we had some evidence put forth.

Search Trump on Google then search him on DuckDuckgo.

The results will be totally different, With Google leaning anti-trump.

Some people (not saying you) are either not smart enough, or don't care enough to look into that. which creates a skewed perception of the truth. That's meddling

That is not evidence of anything related to google if true.

If google gives you left leaning stories then likely the msm is left leaning and since that is undeniable at this point it kinda says that your duckduck is right leaning and leaves out majority of msm articles.

So not evidence of anything other than a left leaning media and a right wing search engine.

Truth is that google results are based on major outlets reporting and if you want the smaller outfits articles then get off the front page of results or be more specific with your search terms.

You can not put google in the hot seat for the msm.

I never linked the MSM to Google. DDG is in the middle, you will find anti-trump articles as well.

It couldn’t be Trumps own actions and words that make people dislike him. Nah.

Nope. Must be that google algorithm.

Lol.

It'a almost like you don't even try. Instead of being a mouthpiece for the idiot left, why not set aside your bias for a second and look into this. Does Google seem to push the left's agenda while hiding the right's? Not that you would show such integrity, but by using some different search engines, you might be able to come up with a real answer, unless you are just happy with the one CNN told you to have.

Because the lawyer isn't making decisions. They wanted the people in charge, Google is the only one to refuse.

You must be laughing when you try to give the impression Google search results are neutral and unbiased. There have been so many incidents over the years where they were caught screwing up searches. They always claim it was some kind of mistake but not their fault. Then they fix it which proves that they can and do have influence.
