There's an article on MSN Lifestyles section today "50 Amazing Over-40 Bodies"

So it shows a bunch of celebrities showing off their physique and a paragraph or two about how they managed to get their fit bodies and/or keep their fit bodies. What the article fails to mention is that half of these celebs were at one point obese, sickly and/or addicts in their past. Another thing they conveniently leave out is that when you have fat stacks and time to burn it's easy to hire an army of PT's who will keep you on plan, on point and just about slap the food out of your hand. There are a few that I had to chuckle at... When a woman has arms that could double as legs, I don't call that fit! "Strong is the new skinny" is the new way of saying "I'm heavy and having a hard time losing weight because I like to eat a lot!" What a bunch of BS! It could be that some of them are authentic but being in the health and fitness industry, and being "fit" myself, I know it takes more than a "Smoothie in the morning, salad and protein for lunch and whatever I want for dinner avoiding processed foods" - Gwyneth Paltrow

Gosh, I couldn't really view it, my laptop got attacked by ad's, must get an ad blocker.

EDIT
I'm over 40 and my body looks in better visual shape (by MSM standards) than my son who plays rugby for our town.
He's massively stronger than me though, hardly drinks and doesn't smoke obviously, could physically throw me around the room all day with stamina that would mock me.
Visuals and healthiness are two different beasts for sure.

Not even gonna bother to look. If it's Hollywood you know it's more visits to the plastic surgeon than to the gym.

Yes, but ignore that, just a my end thing obviously.
I edited my post for on-topic conversation about the subject though.
My visual shape is not a representation of strength, more defined muscles. I'm no weakling, I do physical work but I prefer my shape to my son's, even though he is massively stronger than me with more stamina and a healthier body, just specific muscle definition and body fat ratio is all.
...that and personal taste of course, lots of girls want to be picked up by my son over an old guy like me lol

I would like to not work a 40 hour week and have somebody cooking healthy meals for me.
A personal trainer wouldn't hurt either.

going to the gym for an hour a few times a week isn't that bad.

I do it. I was there on the elliptical for an hour saturday and sunday morning. And another 30 mins doing the weight machines.

The alternative is dying at an early age because you sit down in an office chair all day is motivation enough.

Working construction is a bonus for keeping fit, like being paid to go to the gym. My main gig is plastering and rendering so my body movements are fantastic with angles n stuff, fine motor control keeping the shape to make something look beautiful. My favourite tools are my trowel and body. My favourite pics are me plastering lol, we do two coats in the UK, many kilos of plaster are spread to make something beautiful.
My body is shaped for my job and my son's is shaped for his.
His body is superior to mine in strength, fitness and stamina, mine just looks more toned lol

I am 6 decades old. Lost some weight and muscle mass due to an ongoing illness . Yet , I still make the young ladies look and the young guys jealous...
It is genetics for the most part.

It makes a lot of noise, and it's dirty,

That's all that counts,

I feel the title is misleading. Those pics showed only one body each and they were all alive.

I won't accept other people's choice of what is Amazing looking half the time. Some of the people starve themselves to death, others are too muscle bound. Too much muscle is not that good looking. Also, boosting hormones can cause people to be dicks. I consider a nice personality with a moderate body as being best, actually a little bit overweight is beneficial.

Beauty is a perception where the person beholding it makes a judgement. Some of the nicest people are overweight, many of the people who are trim and slim are jerks. I learned that back when I was young and in good shape, I did not follow the leaders in that direction, I did not pay attention to those judging others by their looks.
