Police in Norway are looking into the disappearance of Arjien Kamphuis, a Dutch citizen with links to WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. Versions on Twitter have ranged from a hiking incident, to a secret assignment, to a CIA hit.
Kamphuis, a cyber security expert and co-author of a handbook for investigative journalists on how to keep themselves and their work safe from government spying, has been missing since August 20th, when he checked out of a hotel in the town of Bodø in northern Norway.

How many more people around Wikileaks are going to get killed and go missing before we-the-people say enough is enough? When will a docile populace rise and request answers? Why do people support politicians that want Assange dead?

In what "liberal democracy" is a journalist locked in an Embassy for years and not allowed to communicate or even talk online without criminal charge? Is freedom of speech a gigantic scam?

Why isn't there any sign or evidence of life on Julian Assange?

Why is the media ignoring the fact that Christine Assange (Julians mother), said that Seth Rich (also killed) and not the Russians, was the leaker?

With this many people around Wikileaks being killed or disappearing or their offices being raided (Ive lost count of how many), who exactly is running Wikileaks right now? Is Wikileaks compromised?

Questions over Questions, none of them clear or answered.

On August 22, Kamphuis was expected to leave Trondheim for Amsterdam. De Leest said he had already bought the plane ticket but nobody has heard from him since he left the hotel in Bodø. That means the man might have gone missing either in Bodø, in Trondheim, or somewhere in between during the train journey.

I would guess he is in protective custody. The timing is about right. I think Assange is one to protect his people.

Only a guess at this stage. Prayers for his safety.

There's quite a lot of untruths people propagate around Assange, and this is one of them. Assange is not locked up in the Ecuadorean Embassy - he's free to leave at any time. He is online and and can do what he likes on the internet, so long as it does not annoy his hosts, who have previously been less than impressed with his disrespect for Ecuadorean hospitality, who expect guests to abide by their rules.

He has an outstanding arrest warrant in the UK for skipping bail, so he'll have to face the consequences of that, just like any other person. He failed in his attempt to get this warrant overturned.

On Arjien Kamphuis... He seems to be a minor player in the Wikileaks business. I wonder why the Russian propaganda arm RT.com is trying to make this out to be something it is not?

So he voluntarily chooses to stay locked up and unable to communicate! He's actually free to just leave the Embassy and take a nice walk in sunlight and fresh air anytime he chooses! I had no idea.

I see. Yet another disappearance is of no concern. I guess its also of no concern that Wikileaks employees get killed, laywers offices raided, Seth Rich gets killed. Nothing to see here. Everything is entirely normal.

From what i've read wikileaks no longer exists.

In any event, Australia being a slave state of the US, will quite glady throw anyone related to wikileaks to the wolves to save their own backsides any day.

The Australian govt like many western govts is loyal to powers external to Australia.

Assange is voluntarily in the Ecuadorean Embassy. That remains the case today, as it was when he first moved in.

This may be true, but if you only knew the depths of deception,
and downright evil at foot....

Why do people think the CIA is doing anything respectable these days?

This is very concerning, as Kamphuis knows, and would be able
to prove exactly who delivered the DNC leak.

Someone, or a group of someones is systematically at work
to this day attempting to eliminate the possibility that
the truth could be proven and the circumstances surrounding
Seth Rich's death are kept secret.

This is like being a high school bully who threatens to beat the kid up if he leaves the closet. The teacher comes by and ask whats going on and the bully says: "He's in there voluntarily. That's a fact".

What I learned from this exchange is that almost everyone that repeats this lie also believes in the lie that Russia controls U.S. Elections (in cases the goodthink candidate doesn't win).

Er, no it's not. Poor analogy. Assange chose to move to the Ecuadorean Embassy to avoid legal processes. He was successful in timing out the rape allegations in Sweden, but has not been able to get out of the arrest warrant in England. He needs to man-up and face the music like every other person. If the Yanks really want him, then they'll need to fight him through the courts.

There was no rape. Charges were dropped. They were used to frame him because he had become an enemy of the CIA as well as an enemy of criminal people within the U.S. Government. The reason he is not leaving the Embassy is because he knows there will be no fair trial.

You are promoting the charade that all this has nothing to do with his leaking of information that exposed widespread elite corruption.

The C_A is supposed to serve the will of the people, not oppress it. The C_A is supposed to be below Government and Government is supposed to be below people, not the other way around. The purpose of Government is to reflect the will of the people it SERVES.

Even more concerning is a docile populace that doesn't care about any of these events.

Maybe in the end the ultimate lesson from this tragic story will be to never become a threat to the three letter agencies, particularly the DNC, CIA and FBI?

Is Japan Times also Russian propaganda?

And Huffington Post too?

Daily Beast is also Russian Propaganda?

And Wired?

What makes you want to let readers believe that this piece of news is only being published by Russians?

The source was RT.com. It was a collection of Tweets and speculation that insinuated something was amiss. If other publications pick it up using broadly the same approach without any real investigative effort, then that's up to them. At the time of posting RT appeared to be the only English language "news" site covering this, or at least using Twitter as a source of news.
