The left are the ones that took it to the point where you can't even disagree anymore, not the right

Yet here you are perpetuating that divide, for the healing to begin both sides need to compromise.

What are you willing to compromise on?

I don't know,what do you think I should compromise on ?

You said compromise.

I'm asking what.

Immigration for starters. The left wants more leniency, but the US already has one of the most lenient policies in the world. How about we compromise and model it after the majority of the world by making it more strict?

We agree on that which is why both sides dislike trump because he is against that agenda which should be enough for anyone that is not a lefty socialist like him.

I'm not sure what need to compromise on to start a conversation, I was hoping you could point out something with my ideology you disagree with ...

I think a country, any country in fact should secure its borders, illegal immigration is a real problem all over the world.

Yet we find ourselves at odds.

I wonder why.

Shenanigans? This so subjective and really nondescript. But your black prince did not receive any media coverage over the firing of many good generals and admirals. Hmmmm . You have been fooled. Hang on to that politically correct attitude and litmus test you hold so dear. Watch out what you buy into. Communism is lurking behind the facade you so love. I will not waste my time with sources as you can find them for yourself except you will discount it. Beware. People like you I can not feel sorry for or have sympathy for when reality slaps you up the side of your head. The presidency has been reduced to a personality contest for the ignorant. Trump is a hard ass. Does not care about your hurt feelings or your politically correctness. He cares about the American people. Wants to stop the invasion of illegals that can crash this country financially. Wants inner city folks to have jobs. Wants to stop the unfair trade deals made by traitorous presidents before him meant to crash this country. The New World Order lackies have a big problem. TRUMP!! Chew on that for a bit.

In my opinion he’s looking out for American interests and values

He's only looking out for right-wing interests and Billionaire interests.

supporting the military

Overspending on the military you mean

trying to clear up some of the political shenanigans that plague US politics and trying to fix problems that US policy has created globally

Trump has caused more Shenanigans than any other President in US history.
what you mean is it really bothers you that he stirs the pot of the NWO elites. I love it that he does that. Who else has ever done it? Well Reagan sort of , and JFK but they killed him for it.

What did you think of Clinton? Bet you loved him and did not mind he was a draft dodger as well

Ummm...I thought Clinton was a used car salesman...That’s why I never voted for him...

I could see through his slick appeal and thought it very amusing that he had half the nation in a swoon...He was a white Barack Obama...whom I also never voted for...I saw through him as well...

Why do you ask...?

My question to Olaru was an honest question...I was attempting to gauge what the underlying reason for his intense dislike was...and Whether it might have an subconscious psychological reason behind it...

I was just curious is all...did my question trigger some underlying emotional reflex in you...?

Who worships a draft dodger?

First, I do not worship our president. I like his policies. I like what he is doing for the country but there is no worship.
Second, what does his not being in the military affect as being president. Obama was not. Clinton wasn't. Bush never served a day in Combat....

You just have a lot of hate for him....

Barak Obama made Donald Trump possible.

Think on that for a bit.

More likely that Palin made Trump possible. She pretty much paved the way for extreme divisiveness and a brand (and I do mean 'brand') of dumbed-down politics that even Michele Bachman could wrap her head around. She proved that incompetence could get you way up there in the political realm if you just acted shameless, spiteful and basically just said whatever gibberish came to mind when the cameras were on (or twitter in Trumps case). When she descended down into reality TV, there wasn't enough room for the two of them, Trump had to fill the wizard-void in politics that she had left. And hey, Americans love their reality entertainment... even if it's electing a straight up disastrous di_k as president out of shameless spite.

GO FETCH!

gooood booyyyyy

You are spot on. These stupid libs get their "facts" from the fake news mainstream media. Then they feed off of each other with this PROPAGANDA they got from the MSM. IT'S A FACT that the liberal-owned FAKE NEWS MSM is the one SPREADING LIES AND HATE about POTUS and many of these people watching these news outlets haven't a clue that they are being taken like fools. I love my sister, but she's one of them. Shameful.

Trump is different, the Democrats hate him and the Republicans didn’t want him. But he still won. I honestly believe he is trying to do something about the corruption - although not necessarily in the best way.

I can but hope that when all the investigations end the dust clears that the US can unite behind the outcome. We need the US leading on the world stage to tackle the issues facing us as a global society.

Trump has already done something about the corruption by merely becoming POTUS. The roaches are running as displayed but their petty and superficial actions/lies in the media. And these roaches are illegally trying to take action against POTUS (for merely WINNING as an outsider and disturbing their CORRUPTION RING) before POUTUS rightfully takes action against them. "If that f-cking bastard wins, we all hang from nooses." If Clinton had won, we would have NEVER heard of this corruption and would have been swept under the rug. Glad Trump won.

Although I didn't vote for him, but I'm so proud of the job he's doing. He hasn't been president for two years and has done so many positive things for The People.

I'm like you Bob , I quite like him really , unless he's a you-know-what which hasnt been discounted yet .
"They" dont like him because there's no real fact in their understanding of politics , or people
They'll start with
"This should or shouldn't be this way or that . Idealism has a lot to answer for .

A more considered approach realises a set of circumstances , such as 'Trump's a Northerner the Southerners like , hence a surprise winner" etc

I came from a time when ATS members wouldn't stand for someone like Trump or Hilary for that matter in office. We stood against crookedness regardless Left or Right. The "members" spouting out now are not the same members I remember and IMHO not true ATS folk.

Hmmm, none of your top 5 have anything to do with his actual policies, did you notice that?

I'm sure many of our former Presidents, even great ones, probably weren't very nice people.

I didn't vote to hire a nice guy, I voted for someone to actually do what they said and promised. So far, Trump's done that, despite both parties not liking him.

He still has a lot more to do and these midterms will be a test of if America has had too much of Trump. People typically vote on if they are now better off than before a candidate, Trump, in this instance. I don't think people are going to give him a slap when the economy is humming, trade deals are happening ect.

Yes he does minor things you wish he wouldn't, but so far his Admin has been a productive one for the Average American.

Someone should stary a thread called " WHY I DON'T GIVE A SH!T THAT YOU HATE DONALD TRUMP" Seriously get over it. Those of us that did not like obama dealt with it for 8 years and did not throw a national temper tantrum like you snivelling whining never trumpers.

Did you even read the OP? Specifically, the part where he said:

However despite what I have listed above I do like the guy! He’s not and never will be my president but I damn well wish we had someone like him. In my opinion he’s looking out for American interests and values, supporting the military, trying to clear up some of the political shenanigans that plague US politics and trying to fix problems that US policy has created globally over the last 20 years. Overall I think he’s doing a decent job in a very hostile climate.

Or...did you just read the thread title or the first paragraph and shoot off a reply? Go back and read the whole thing. He's saying, in a nutshell, that although he can see why people might be rubbed the wrong way by Trump's personality, he'd doing a good job as prez and he doesn't understand where all the vitriol against Trump comes from. Then he asks if anyone can give any concrete reasons why they don't like Trump as opposed to emotional responses that have nothing to do with his job performance to date. You know, in an effort to understand. Unfortunately, most responses so far have been knee-jerk reactions that really don't answer the question.

It's not that he lies, but because he is also honest to a fault.

People don't want an honest person, they want nice words. soothing oration.

It's okay to be lied to if it is said in a smooth cadence.

People are so used to being lied to, that they are insulted by frank honesty. It's quite tragic what politicians have done to populations. "Sheeple" is the descriptive term, I believe.
