Looks like the DOJ/FBI under xObama got those FISA warrants easy as pie.

Seems the FISA Court Judges never had any hearings on the basis.

Not surprising since the whole thing was rigged from Day1.

Judicial got the info because they filed FOIA requests and got real court orders.

Sloppy Joes they were under xObama and xLynch.

Caught in the ACT 😃

Judicial Watch: Justice Department Discloses No FISA Court Hearings Held on Carter Page Warrants

Judicial Watch today announced that in response to a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit, the Justice Department (DOJ) admitted in a court filing last night that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court held no hearings on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) spy warrant applications targeting Carter Page, a former Trump campaign part-time advisor who was the subject of four controversial FISA warrants.

In the filing the Justice Department finally revealed that the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court held no hearings on the Page FISA spy warrants, first issued in 2016 and subsequently renewed three times:

[National Security Division] FOIA consulted [Office of Intelligence] … to identify and locate records responsive to [Judicial Watch’s] FOIA request…. [Office of Intelligence] determined … that there were no records, electronic or paper, responsive to [Judicial Watch’s] FOIA request with regard to Carter Page. [Office of Intelligence] further confirmed that the [Foreign Surveillance Court] considered the Page warrant applications based upon written submissions and did not hold any hearings.

The Department of Justice previously released to Judicial Watch the heavily redacted Page warrant applications. The initial Page FISA warrant was granted just weeks before the 2016 election.

‘[N]o such hearings were held with respect to the acknowledged FISA applications. Accordingly, no responsive hearing transcripts exist.’

I'm betting Chuck Todd wishes he had stayed home today.

As I said in the Q thread: "Fruit of the poison tree" is basically going to amount to a chainsaw cutting the whole thing down.
The warrant was issued in direct violation of constitutional safeguards. It is invalid, and any evidence gathered as a result of it must be thrown out.

Actually, Carter Page was an FBI informant for years, until it suddenly became politically expedient to reclassify him as a foreign agent.

So, you can get approval to spy on people with no hearing what so ever now? Appears so. How can anyone be ok with this?

What are we to do when pretty much every single institution in the federal government is rife with corruption?

My first question would be how often are hearings had in fisa proceedings? If they usually do have hearings, and didnt here, that is unforgivable and demands investigation.

My guess is most requests for warrants dont end up having hearings , and instead are granted based on filed paperwork alone.

Having said that, there seem to be several reasons that a hearing would have been necessary here.

The first is that the court almost never turns down a fisa warrant application, but reports are that the one on page was turned down (maybe twice), and had to be modified and resubmitted (this time with the dossier).

Given the fact that the court was skeptical enough to take the extremely unsual step of rejected the application, you would think they would want a hearing to have the FBI explain exactly why the new application was acceptable.

Secondly, this was an application on a person that was connected to a presidential campaign, meaning exyrodanary steps should have been taken before allowing spying that would give access to communications within that campaign.

It is clear that the FISA courts are a joke and need to be scrapped or massively overhauled.

And this is yet another piece of evidnce of just how easy it was for Obamas fbi (including top people that hated trump) to be allowed to spy on trumps team.

Nixon did it wrong. Instead of having burgalars try to get some papers form his opponents office, he should have just got a warrant and had his fbi spy on all of their material. Apparently thats totally legit.

Carter Page was a paid FBI informant/UCE for years leading up to the election. Trump did not seek him out Page went through people he knew in the RNC to be put on Trump's team and that roll was very low.

After years of being an UCE for the FBI and added on Trump's team through his own actions seems kind of funny shortly joining Trump's team he is part of a FISA warrant against Trump...

Sure seems like Page was a Trojan Horse for the FBI as easy and fast as the FISA went...like it was all planned...lol

If he was a none russian assett for years, why did the FBI not diclose that when using him as a witness to take down russian criminals?

Come on now. Warrants of all kinds are routinely just rubber stamped. Usually because the process usually doesn't allow those being warranted to put up any defense. Doesn't invalidate the investigation at all. What should come of this is more rights for all Americans when it comes to fighting search warrants and the such. Instead of reforming the process the Repubs will just complain about how unfair it is.

Keep in mind this FISA warrant was for spying on an American Citizen.

There may be a legal issue.

What I don't know of course.

I would be interested to see how often this happens as well. I was unaware that it could be even given without some sort of hearing. Seems that would make it even easier to abuse the system if that is the case.

I'm waiting on a hard source. But apparently the Australian ambassador that reported on
Papadopoulos in London. Is now saying the conversation was completely harmless .

If that's confirmed it's going to cause a lot of trouble for Mueller .
