He was referring to the socialist agenda, the direction of the state, "huge tax increases", "bankrupting the state", not the candidate, whom he only described as articulate, charismatic, and the best out of the democratic debates. But no, now we get to watch as racists connect "monkey it up" with black folks.

I may very well have used the phrase monkey around in front of them, or monkey things up, I have no idea, because they know I am not racist, and it didnt even register as something to bat an eye about.

I've said far worse in jest, and had the same said back at me, by my friends when we are together. It's not racist if the context is not racist as I suspect is the case in the Original Post.

Exacftly.

And I will tell you this; if Gillum came out and said "He I appreciate his clarification, I dont think it was racist and this is a non issue. Now lets talk about policy."

I would have a ton of respect for him.

if you can find one time when 'monkey' was used or monkey images or metaphors other than when a black person is concerned I'll venmo you a grand.

find 2 whites debating and a monkey reference is invoked...

People dont keep files on colloquialisms because it is no big deal.

I could take many phrases, insuniate they are racist, then ask you to provide a debate with two black people using the phrase to each other to prove it isnt.

BUTTTTTT!!!!!

I was a debatrer who is white, I use the phrase monkey around a good amount.

This weekend I will be able to get my old computer with my debates saved on it.

And if I find one where I use that term in a round againsty a white person, I will be happy to collect your $1000.

But he will change the criteria to something absurd to get out of paying.

Hehe, G Dubs does look like a monkey in that picture. But then again, we're all monkeys, unless you happen to be a Creationist whacknut and believe we're dust or McRibs.

Oh an I can do you one better!

I can give you an example of GILLUM HIMSELF using the term monkey like this.

Gillum, who is running for governor, returned a $10,000 campaign donation from Governance Services.

"After reading today’s reporting we decided to return their check," campaign spokesman Geoff Burgan said. "Tallahassee needs to move forward, as do we, from this unfortunate situation."

At last week’s City Hall meeting, Gillum referred to the investigation as a monkey on the commission’s back that derailed a move to hire Deputy Attorney Cassandra Jackson as City Attorney.

www.tallahassee.com...

I guess gillum was being racist to all of the blacks on the commission!

Would you like my info to mail that check?

After this incident,

Monkey bars are no longer referred to as monkey bars. They prefer to be called physical endurance bars.

They no longer identify with animals.

Yeah I remember being told "low man on the totem pole" was culturally insensitive and bordered on racism.

If I find it...

Keep the money or donate to charity.

But big of you to offer!

On a side note, Gillum himself used the term monkey saying a commission had a monkey on its back.

does that mean it was racist for him to say it?

the topic was during a debate where a monkey reference was made and both parties were white.

I didnt say I definitely did it, I said that I very well could have.

And again, if using the term monkey would only be used by racsit,

Is gillum a racist himself for using the phrase monkey on their backs?

So the new way to speak so no one gets offended by any word is. . .

H-word.

H-word a-word y-word?

I-word a-word f-word.

H-word a-word n-word d-word.

S-word,

DBC-word.
