Just as bad.

That's why we should all gather in the middle and not vote dem or repub in 2020.

I would say in november but everyone has already made up their minds how they are voting in 3 months...

A lot of people on the left look at people of faith as the ultimate cynics. Those people look at us as bigots first, foremost and only.

I understand what he is saying.

I was with a libiral friend today and she was complaining that she always has to go visit her mother when her mother refuses to visit her. I asked her why her mother never visits. She said it was because her mother refuses to step foot in a household of non christains. Not even to see her own grandkids.

When you experience things like this during your life you will naturally have a negative idea of these people.

Now let me tell you another story.

My mother has dealt with crippling anxiety all her life. I never once saw her make friends. When she was married to my father she stayed at home with us kids when my dad hung with his friends. When she was married to my step father his friends became hers. After my step father died and all her kids were off living there lives she fell into a deep deep depression that almost took her life twice that I know of. In the end it was the church. The christain religion that pulled her out of it when nothing else could. Not even when I moved in with her to keep her safe did it bring her back. But the christains did. And today she is happy and has friends that she chose. It it is mostly because of those nice christain people.

So you see it is a matter of perspective. I gave two examples one negative one positive.

The fact that most liberals are seeing a majority of negative things from the church is the real problem.
This stuff involving the Catholics and kids is not helping.

If you want them to look positively at the church then the church needs to clean house. It isn't just hateful libs hating for hate sake... that's silly.

It's people that have lived there lives seeing more negative than positive coming from religion.

Well, maybe it's time for Christianity to pack it in. It obviously hasn't brought peace to the Earth (not that that was its original intention). And if it was such a great idea, then it would have caught on by now.

So, nice try Christianity. You had your chance.

More of Doddering Donald's fear mongering,

Fear not about the damage to the country,
fear about the dems acting quickly ..
to undo some of the damage already done

The reaction won't be violent, by the way

The damage that was done to the U.S. is now being fixed by a president
who has proven he has a pair!

You don't know what the Christian values that Jesus taught are? For reference review my posts in this thread. Obviously, you too need a refresher course, because you've been gnawed silly by wolves in sheep's clothing!
The reference was more or less to you accusing me of having abandoned Christian values, of course you don't know me so how would you know what my values are? Assuming of course that you have Christian values and I don't . Now would you care to delineate those certain values which you think you have and I don't? This should be entertaining.

No. I'm not here to play "50 First Dates" with you, like you can't remember reading any of my precious posts or what they said!

Your posts, on the other hand, have clearly shown that you don't understand or abide by the scriptures that I've posted, and you think that conservative Christian politicians shouldn't either. I'm not going to repeat my statement/argument for you again, for the 3rd time.

Rocks! Nothing but rocks, rattling around inside your head!

Yep this is hyperbolic and dumb.

More fear mongering to drive up support, and it is absurd.

But this is par for the course sadly.

I remember all the way back to before the election during the conventions people discussing how "dark" trumps speech was.

Yet no one batted an eye as democrats and media people claimed trump would round up gay people, outlaw abortion, kick all brown people out of the country, and make women second class citizens.

It was dumb when they did it, and its dumb for trump to be doing it now.

Must we go down the path of "they will take our right to have ABORTIONS away!!!". The difference is the left chanting this is not a small percentage as is with the whole religious thing.

Let's not forget the greatest crimes against humanity were non-religious and even anti religious. Maybe religion with all its faults is the only thing keeping us from going full retard as we seem to do without it....

Aye, it says that in Matthew's contribution.

However, it does not instruct the reader to be perfect immediately, or even in ones mortal lifetime. It just asks that we get there. I am not sure if you know this, but in order to get perfect at something, you have to be bad at it for a while. There is a difference, however, between being bad at it, and deliberately acting to go against the will of Christ. It is Christs will that the poor be fed, the weak defended. Stand against that principle, and you will burn for it in the depths, even as those who tried to feed the poor and protect the weak, but failed, are taken into heaven.

Yes, well said, except that there is still nothing in Christ's teachings where he insists on the government taking money out of our paychecks and redistributing it as they see fit. Jesus did not teach socialism, only true charity. Socialism is not true charity.

Yes, we are aspiring for the perfection of the Christ mind. Human perfection is not the desired goal. However, being a sinner is also used as a copout.

Not to go all stats on you, but..

The Crusades death toll 1.7m at a time when the world population was 300m (0.006)
The Holocaust death toll was 6m at a time the world population was 2.3b (0.003)

The Crusades murdered a greater percentage of the population than the Holocaust. Double.

But hey, either way if you have to argue if Christianity is in 1st or 2nd place for crimes against humanity, you kind of already lost the argument.

I assure you this has nothing to do with "first dates". You are trying to say that I do not have good Christian morals, and why do you seem to believe this? You go on and on posting scripture after scripture as if this in itself explains your personal moral character. Then the rest of it is leftist gobbledy gook about taxes. In one point you say that we should render unto Caesar what is Caesar's saying that politics is not what we are supposed to be thinking about, then you insist that your political leanings are your moral values based on Christian values. Which is it? There is nothing inherently Christian about redistribution of wealth based on a corrupt and immoral and totalitarian central government. Karl Marx hated the Church. How can you conflate Marxist redistribution of wealth and hatred of the bourgeois family and hatred of capitalism with Christian values? The Holy Family is what is taught as a Christian concept, and Marxism is fundamentally against the Holy Family, and substitutes the State with parental values.
That is the first thing I must point out to you.
Did you know that the apostle Paul said in Corinthians that"every man shall bear his own burden" ? Probably you never noticed. Or never rea

For every man shall bear his own burden.
Galatians 6:5

For every man shall bear his own burden. That is, either do his own work, which God has allotted him to do, whether in a more public or private station of life; which, because it is generally troublesome to the flesh, is called a "burden", and "his own", being peculiar to himself, and in which no other is concerned; and which he should patiently bear, cheerfully attend to, and constantly and faithfully perform while in this world: or he shall give an account of his own actions, and not another's, to God, in the other world; he shall be judged according to his own works, what they are in themselves, and not by a comparison of other men's, who have been more wicked than he; which will be no rule of judgment with God, nor of any advantage to man. Every wicked man will bear his own burden; that is, the punishment of his own sins, and not another's; so the judgments of God, inflicted on men in this world, are often called "a burden";
biblehub.com...

That was Gil's Exposition of the bible commentary.
What it means is that there is the outworking of karmic law. We all must take responsibility in this world. Socialism is a means to circumventing karmic law which creates situations for people. But socialism does more than that. It creates a powerful State which takes away not only personal accountability, but individual liberty. Socialism is a perversion of community.
So rocks in the head, maybe in yours, as you seem to have signed on to that nasty perverted State which takes away individual liberty and replaces the Holy Family with a totalitarian nightmare.
That's just a start. If you don't like it, just go back to your driveling about values.

I would wager that most of them know plenty of the positive without really knowing it. It's just that the positive doesn't advertise.

Most of the people I interact with face-to-face don't know my faith. I keep my head down. I am afraid for people to know what I am.

You people here know more about that side of me than most of them do largely because the internet provides an illusion of anonymity, but then, because I am frank about things here, people likely think I am much different in reality than I actually am.

It is a catch-22.
