The fact he didn't state a name was because the other party is unindicted.
By law the other party cannot be named.
Remember the unnamed companies in Manaforts indictment?

The only reason the Candidate for federal office can't be named.

Do you honestly think Hillary told him to pay off those women?

Any messages that come to you direct?
This tells me... that tells me are phrases meaning you are speculating.

This tells me you don't have a clue.

The only candidate for federal office he was working for was tRump.

I hope y'all are ready when they don't.
Because they obviously won't.

His little mom and pop company of corruption is coming to an end.
Now N.Y. is going to indict his kids his company and his foundation.

"If elected Hillary will probably be under federal investigation for her entire term ending in a conviction" sound like famous last words to me. Big LOL.

OMG Clinton did not direct him to make payments to cover trumps affairs.
For Christ's sake get real.
You guys have really gone off the deep end again.
Obviously this idea has not been thoroughly thought out but now must be fiercely defended as if it's a real possibility.
It is not.

Yes, that would be a huge misdirection, if we believe your 'theory".

It doesn't make much sense, but it's a theory nonetheless.

So Cohen never specifically stated Trump as the political candidate that he was referring to...

I just saw this, and thought it worth adding to your OP:

The nondisclosure agreement silencing Clifford was dated Oct. 28, 2016, and was meant to be signed by four people: her first lawyer, Keith Davidson; Cohen; Clifford herself (who was identified as “Peggy Peterson”); and Trump (who was identified as “David Dennison.”)

Source

There is absolutely nothing definitive in the public realm that identifies Trump as the other party in the nondisclosure agreement. We've been told that Trump is the pseudonymous "David Dennison." But that's all we've got. Talk. And as Lanny Davis has exemplified, talk is cheap. (Especially from lawyers!)

Yeah those BIG stories like Obama going to Guantanamo Bay for a Caribbean vacay.
Or even better. Mueller and tRump are working together.
Or the really really BIG one where tRump has a time travelling advisor.
No # man. I heard it right here.

While you are cracking jokes hold on, I have a better joke of a BIG story.

Thoughts on Lanny's refusal of a Pardon on behalf of Cohen with this in mind?

Sure...Cohen getting a pardon was only speculation and Lanny wouldn't pass up an opportunity to get some coverage as he has shown disgracefully.

I dont think Trump has even considered pardoning Cohen. This was all conjecture and speculation by media.

Agreed.

I'm betting they have Cohen in a bind for plenty of non trump stuff to put him away forever.

GoFundMe page set up, then the Pardon and "Candidate" remarks were just to pump money into it so Lanny ensures himself a paycheck from Cohen.

that's a big ol' stretch given the context... but you believe whatever magical realism gets you through the day...
