Trump was never great and the gop did not want him.
Trump was simply not hillary.
It is not that hard to understand.

There were many other candidates who were “simply not Hillary” as well.

On both sides of the aisle, and that is not counting third party entries.

And yet, Trump?

There is more to the story than just “not Hillary”, and a lot of people are going to have to answer some hard questions, if only to themselves, about just what the rest of that story entails.

What hard questions? People liked that he wasn't a career politician. People liked that he wasn't giving them typical politician lines in the same old boring politician manner. He had a simple message and goal, on top of not being Hillary.

Do not believe this for a minute. We can observe more let whining. More left abuse of the media. More cover up and noise to cover the excesses of the Democratic party.

No, the Left/Dem's are trying to make a huge smoke screen by abuse of the media, ANTIFA style groups and false accusations.

As long as the majority of people in the majority of counties in the majority of states are doing well, then Trump will get re-elected.

Unless the evil leftists stage a coup and have him JFK'd.

Lol.
Back to civics class for you.

He won 30 out of just over 50 popular votes on election night. As such he won the election under electoral college rules. The proof is he is sitting in the Oval Office as your President.
There is no such thing as a 'mandate from the people' beyond the election result.

It won't be the left, it will be the GOP to keep the party from complete destruction by cadet bonespurs.

Interesting, I've noticed the exact opposite. Perhaps you're having a bit of wishful thinking

I've noticed a lot of my Dem/Liberal friends realizing all the lies for what they are and a year and half into President Trump we aren't all dead, in world war 3 or completely bankrupt like many of them feared. I see a lot of people going "wow Trump wasn't as bad as they said he was" and realizing all the lies.

As a registered libertarian with alot of friends also libertarian most that I know do not support trump at all.

Says the person who claims to be from a country where the PM can call a vote of confidence. Although not in the Constitution, a popular mandate is a political necessity. Without popular support, a president will find state legislatures passing laws that block his or her agenda, courts that find executive orders unconstitutional, journalists dedicated to digging up dirt, defections of party supporters... of course, Trump is not having these sort of problems, right?

Incorrect. By winning 30 states popular votes, it ensures that 30 legislatures won't be passing laws that block his agenda. The courts have found his EO's unconstitutional (and his predecessor who always won the popular vote had many EO's found unconstittutional). All republicans have journalists dedicated to digging up dirt. #Walkaway is happening on the dem side, not the republican side. I swear, you guys live in an alternate reality.

There is no such thing in the Amercian political system that requires the President to get a 'popular mandate' - especially based on the popular vote of the entire union. That is not relevant in any way.
The President is the ultimate power in the Executive Branch and once elected can administer the country according to the law of the land as he sees fit. Under the Constitution, federal law has supremacy over state law.

The popular vote you have been crying about for 2 years is completely irrelevant in every way.

That's not how it works. "All politics is local." Just because a presidential candidate carried a state does not mean that the state legislature will necessarily agree with his agenda. Local concerns about environment, labor laws, etc. may trump federal mandates. The result? Wasteful lawsuits.

The courts have found his EO's unconstitutional (and his predecessor who always won the popular vote had many EO's found unconstittutional).

Can you provide an example other than FDR?

All republicans have journalists dedicated to digging up dirt.

All politicians have journalists digging up dirt. It is the politician's fault if they find it.

#walkaway is a Russian information war campaign:

I swear, you guys live in an alternate reality.

Wrong on several counts. The Executive Branch shares power with two other branches, and Executive Orders can be over-ruled by them. The Constitution gives all powers not explicitly given to the Federal government entirely to state governments. Every state has the right to sue the federal government if it feels that laws or regulations infringe those rights. Finally, Congress has the right to remove that Chief Executive on vaguely worded grounds. If a president proves to be a political danger to Congress, those grounds can be found. This is what has been happening to Trump. His lack of a mandate has led to political divisiveness and inevitable defections. Trump's election was a Cadmean victory.
