My daughter and I were at a Ringo Starr concert.

It was awesome. A grand escape.

Just a quick thread, something that I have been thinking on recently when browsing through the mud-pit.

I am only all too aware of my own views when it comes to this issue so please understand that I am doing my best to that into account and its probably why I haven't bothered to write this thread before know. I also know that this could be a little premature however I am still getting the slightest feeling that the tide of support for Trump is turning against him.

What I mean is that I cannot help but feel that there has been a bit of a softening that I have noticed in how some members seem to be almost (but not quite) becoming much more open to the notion that actually Trump isn't as great as they all seemed to think he was a year or so ago. I am starting to think that some members might be getting closer to sitting on that preverbal fence that has Trump supports on one side and his doubters on the other.

I feel like there has been a noticeable moving of the goal posts from defending Trump to excusing Trump now to almost looking for a way out of their previous out and out blind support of the man with out having to say those most difficult of words "I was wrong about Trump".

There has never been any out and out blind support for Trump...Now HIllary and Bernie, that's another story...

In case you haven't noticed, Trump is up to 50% approval rating in the Rasmussen poll...

The Trump collusion story is gone...They couldn't find any obstruction of justice...Now they're well beyond those fake stories and are searching for anything they can to bring Trump down...

Trump should fire them all even if he has to declare Martial Law to keep the animals in check...

We are already under martial law, as of December 2017.

I know, I know! It always looks more intense in the movies!

They never show the paperwork phase though.

There's talk and rumors of an effort within the highest levels to try to convince Trump to resign before this all "gets much worse" for him. Speculative, unconfirmed nonsense most likely. But somehow I can see them trying. Perhaps that is the end game, the outcome they are hoping for?

Then again, when is too much, too much for this man?

Nothing is keeping him from saying F it, and go back to his private billionaire life, maybe retire.

So...let me see if I understand you correctly. You are basically saying that his pride and ego are inconsequential? Or did you mean something else by "Nothing is keeping him from..."?

I have yet to see a winning quarterback, who didn't care if we won...just sayin'...

He is a billionaire who cheated on his pregnant wife with porn stars...

I find that worse personally..

Thanks for letting us know about your feelings and for signalling your virtue.

People can NOT be upset because he's a billionaire who cheated on his pregnant wife with porn stars. THAT'S what billionaires do!

You people make out like no one realised he was a super wealthy tycoon playboy dude who hosted Wrestlemanias, owned beauty pageants, partied with the stars and banged pornstars, BEFORE they voted for him.

Then "wow", big revelation, "ooooh he cheated on his wife" . So what? Does this suddenly disqualify him from something?

He's actually a pretty high achieving individual by ANYONE'S standards. We all know he's a douche. We all know he's a tycoon business gangster. So telling people this fact is pointless.

NONE of it detracts from his policies. None of it. "What's that?" you hear a liberal saying. "What's policies?"
None of his past detracts from his policies and more importantly, none of it detracts from his opposition's policies.

Like we're gonna hear "Ya know what? I actually DO want open borders and tax raises now, it's better than having a President who cheated on his wife"

affairs just dont mean the same as they used to most people just dont care. For example, Arnold Schweneger had an afair with his cleaning lady. She even had his son which he now claims. But im betting most here didn even know about it because as a rule, the general public doesn't care.

The only politician I truly supported was Ron Paul, I loved that man.....

Yeah a president not just America but the world could get behind. How come he didn’t get anywhere with that in your opinion?

Ron Paul didn't get anywhere because he was unwilling to REALLY go on the attack against Washington and the media - he was too polite and thus his message did not get through to the extent it could save him from a corrupt GOP and media cheating against him. No too dissimilar to what happened to Bernie Sanders. He should have called out Hillary very vocally for what she is.
Trump showed how to punch through the media and the corrupt 2 party system. I hope future candidates have the guts to do the same. If they do, the mess of the US political and media system may well be cleaned up over time.

I’m fairly sure he did go after Washington at least though, not so sure about the media but it’s only in recent times the majority have woken up to the biased farce they are. If anything I think Ron Paul was just to unknown or to out there for the masses to pay attention to at the time. But still I’d have thought he would have done better.

Didn’t Bernie Sanders give his support to Hillary after? The guy was a stooge IMO.

Attacking the press. Attacking law enforcement. Elevating and legitimizing dictators. Starting an inflationary trade war with China. Starting alliance busting trade wars with our allies. Hiring corrupt lobbyists to head the agencies that regulate their industries. Signing tax breaks for the rich. Sucking up to Putin. Are those the policies his supporters want?

You speak as if the show is over. Currently we have nothing but CNN hype. At least wait until they actually have evidence on Trump before declaring Liberals the victors, or for asking for our resignation. As far as I see it, if Trump has enough money to be as powerful as he is and uses a little cash to get a couple of bimbos on the side for fun...he is only doing what most men would in his position. Sounds like a Legend in my book and just for that...he's got my vote. Most other politicians (Hillary comes to mind) gets away with their crimes...why not him as well?

I remember when conservatives held something called "character" in high esteem. They even tried to impeach a president for having consensual sex.

Personally, I think Ron Paul lost because of his weak stance on foreign policy.

Regardless of whether or not he was anti-war, it didn't appear as though he understood how deceitful Iran was or why the Middle East operates the way it does in general.

He didn't have an (R) or (D) beside his name, he also didn't play ball with the establishment agenda (the people paying for all the campaigns).

Attacking the press. Attacking law enforcement.

Trump is all about protecting law enforcement and allowing them to do their jobs (something Obama didn't allow with ICE or border patrol). That was one of his more popular campaign promises. When you find out that your intelligence agencies are corrupt and the press is lying to protect them, there's nothing else for him to do but to go on the attack. Especially since our corrupt intelligence officers were the ones leaking to the press and bringing it all out in the open in the first place. They're just sorry that it backfired on them and they were the ones that ended up getting all of the negative attention.

There are still a significant number of people, who remember how Ron paul got bernied by the GOP. and I think his kid, Rand, stands a good chance of being the Donald's successor.

I could give Rand Paul about a quarter of the support I gave his dad. Rand is a Republican, not an independent, which takes away much of the range his platform can offer.

He isn't really like his dad.

Ha!

Yep me too.

Well, dont worry, I will be old enough to run for president in 2024!

Have half the platform of him and I'll campaign for you.

It would be similar.

Though strangely there is a lot in my platform about seeking vengeance on my old neighbor whose dog used my yard as a restroom!

Good to know, as a self elected campaign manager, we will leave that out of our public platform and keep it in the private platform.... We'll get it earmarked in some bill by a congressman in West Virginia who needs some coal favors, I know people.

Already you two have been corrupted to use your power for personal vengeance and influenced by lobbyists LOL

Say what you want, we're here to win. Gotta crack a few eggs to make an omelette if you catch my drift.

Yeah Bernie folded like a cheap suit.
Ron Paul should have used much more direct language. He tried to educate the public on areas like the federal reserve. You can't do that in a campaign. The messages have to be simple and clear, and repeated often. It's sad it's like that but it's true.

I thought Trump wasn’t wanted by the Republicans at least to start off with? Wasn’t he an outsider in that sense? In fact I thought many voted for him because he wasn’t a career politician and promised to drain the swamp.

I agree with your points about Rand, but is there anyone out there like Ron that people could get behind in the next election?

I honestly find it hilarious that Trump has ruffled so many feathers, isn’t the time ripe for a new grass roots movement to spring forth and shake up the R&D paradigm?
I think movements like this are growing across the world. People have had enough with the same old lies and corruption. There certainly seems to be less apathy towards politics at least.
