What abuse of power?

Specifics.

Obstruction of Justice ?

Looks like Mueller hasn't missed a beat with the exception of not nailing any American of colluding with Russia to make Trump the winner of the last election.

Morally and ethically unfit?

That's rich considering what his haters have been pulling for the last two years.

Republicans got stomped after Clintons impeachment.

That's because the American people did NOT want Clinton impeached (for the reason he was impeached.)

Trump, on the other hand, doesn't fare as well. It's a different political spectrum.

Presumably you didnt want bill impeached (neither did I) but you would like to see trump impeached.

Can you tell me why given the currently available evidnce you think trump case for impeachment is worse than bills was?

Rampant abuse of power. Obstruction of Justice. Morally and ethically unfit. Turning a dignified office into a #show.

And there we have it.

No specific law or anything thats been broken.

You just dont like him.

Bill on the other hand, who was accused of raping women, HE was morally and ethically fit, and shouldnt have been impeached!

You cant make this stuff up!

Well thats all very condescending off you.....

the same of you, posting without actually understanding what is available in this election and how that will effect an actual impeachment vote

All I am saying is that I think we should wait until after the mid-terms before talking about impeachment seriously because after that the political landscape could swing in such a way as to make impeachment a much more serious possibility.

again
unless you know something that I do not about our political process, a campaign finance violation that normally results in a fine will not get votes to impeach, nor will it "swing" any political landscape here

You might disagree with my opinion on that which is fine but please don't be so arrogant as to assume that just because we hold different views I must be a blithering idiot.

sorry math is hard for you
www.270towin.com...

2018 Senate Election Interactive Map. The U.S. Senate has 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats (including two independents). The 2018 Senate election takes place on November 6, 2018. There are 35 seats up in 2018*, of which 26 are held by Democrats.

a "swing" of 9 is possible which would give the dnc 58 seats if they keep all of theirs and win all of the gop seats
they would still need 9 other senators to walk away from voters and their party to impeach the president
If you think it is possible that 9 senators commit career suicide over campaign finance violations then you are a "blithering idiot". as you put it.

I am not saying that I think he is going to be impeached, all I am saying is that if and its a big if then impeachment could become a serious possibility.

something is wrong with my english to english translation of this
what does this mean?

Which is the point, they're not his friend and will abandon him if they feel it will help their careers.

If I had my way he would be impeached on LIES alone. Nobody who lies to the people who elected him as much as Trump does, should have the honor of remaining "president'.

So by those rules we can never have a sitting president.

They. All. Lie.

Much like Ford, if Pence became President he would be nothing more than a neutered placeholder until Inauguration Day 2021. While the Constitution says that Pence would be the one to succeed Trump he would still represent an administration that essentially lost its right to rule. No one is going to want to be seen supporting what is essentially a continuation of the Trump administration.

Plus, if Trump is impeached that probably means the Dems hold power in Congress. They're not going to pass anything Pence wants and they'll pass legislation to pretty much invalidate any EOs he signs.

Which he wont sign and unless they have a veto-proof super majority, which I doubt they will, his Executive Orders would stand.

Now come on!

Dont you realize by wanting all politicians to be held to the same standard, and pointing out that they all should be impeached based on that posters own criteria, that you have BLINDERS on?

Take of those BLINDERS, and only hold politicians you dont like to your own standards!

I've seen more and more people slowly coming to terms with the idea that this entire investigation may end up implicating the president in some fashion.

I was hoping it wouldn't, as his removal is going to set off a #storm among his ardent supporters, but it is what it is.

Surely this isn't coming from someone who would have Trump impeached on lies alone.

I hope you didn't like Mr. "you can keep your doctor" or "we're closing GITMO".

The same guy who bombed more countries than Bush, went after more journalists than any admin combined with the espionage act, jailed more whistle blowers, assassinated US citizens via the patriot act (which he helped pass again with more fancy jargon)... I could go on.

Or, you can pick another "beacon of morality", and I can roast him next.

Dude why?

Quite literally all I am saying is that I think after the mid-terms then we can actually talk about his chances of impeachment.

Yet your pouncing all over everything I say.

Just chill out and stop getting so triggered any time someone dares to hold a opinion that is different to your own.

I agree, its happening very very slowly but you can definitely feel a change in the way the wind is blowing.

I believe that ATS represents the more "loyal" Trump supporter, and even on ATS I am noticing that some members are not quite so strong in their support of him as they perhaps once where....

Asking what people would think of pence if trump is ousted doesnt equate to nervousness to me at all.
Until very recently, the majority of Trump supporters around here were happily mocking anybody who even suggested that their hero might not serve his term plus another. Suddenly, not so much.

As far as tyhe handmaidens tell, yes yes i get it.
Christians just want to rape the crap out of women and force them into subservient.
Not like democrats, the noble protector of women like eric schneiderman and harvey weinstein!
No...you don't get it. I'm talking about just-how-fast a society could be turned into a 'Christian' version of Saudi Arabia. And to me, that is a very scary thought. I see Pence as the guy that could do it, given the opportunity.

All in a year before he gets voted out? Pence didn't get voted in to the presidents chair, nor will he. He's a flavor of concervative even most moderate Republicans don't find palatable.

Should the Supreme Court let his wishes fly, the next president will just reverse it all.

I cant speak for all trump supporters, but here is my take.

I still have seen no evidence of trump russian collusion. (I have seen more evidence of a corrupt fbi in starting the investigation, but thats a different thread)

I have always assumed manafort was guilty.

I also knew that when the raided cohen, they would inevitably get financial crimes to tie to trump.

In fact, I will be shocked if this weak porn star payment is all they can come up with.

But I was absolutely certain that the dems would eventually try to impeach trump.

Cohen could have been found innocent, manafort as well; and that wouldnt have changed this one bit.

Dems will try to impeach trump, regardless of what they can prove.

I would still be surprised if trump is removed, but not very. Not nearly as shcoked as I was that he won.

But as bernie proved, no one should be shocked that a perceived outsider may be taken down by the establishment.
