How many places do you think or know of only have one network in town?

Even if true, in the information age how many places are without internet or smart phones?

Oh, its even better than that ChaoticOrder.

Not only IS the left full of intellectually advanced people compared with their opposite numbers on the right, but they are the good kind of intellectuals, those who do not use their knowledge for greed and gain, but only for the good of the many, have not invalidated their beliefs by permitting themselves to benefit over much from a system based on exploitation.

Speaking in absolutes I see.

Because there has never been a rich person on the right who has donated huge sums of money to charity. And the USSR was a beacon of intellect and philanthropy.

Don't tell that to folks that are against Al Gore's global warming warning.

Heh. But I think it's too late anyways. Some of those posters who believe that global warming is a hoax to enrich people like Al Gore are already speaking in this thread.

Only 77% of the United States has a smartphone. I say only, because unless everyone does, it means that its limited in terms of its importance as a tool, when you consider its effect on the whole of a population. Also, its worth pointing out that 11% of American households have no internet service at all, while a great deal more than that have really bad service, making it hard for them to absorb video media at all, and making access to even textual information somewhat spotty.

Also, the difference between urban and rural connection quality, and even availability, is significant, and it shows too. Those areas less well served by information access, tend to vote for candidates who require a badly informed voter base in order to succeed.

Okay, but what places in America have no internet, no smart phones and only access to a Fox affiliate like you implied earlier? Surely that can't be a number that has an actual impact.

Nothing in the world is perfect CriticalStinker, and I would never suggest that the left is free of problems, one of the chief amongst these is rich dicks trying to hide their greed under the lefts skirts, so to speak.

However, at least the left as it pertains to the grass roots, is a movement which is about inclusivity, empowerment of the weak, the dethroning of the strong, and the rebalancing of societies so that no one may take unhealthy advantage of them for personal gratifications sake, or to indulge their megalomania.

I've spent 5 years in your leftist eutopia in college and I'm not impressed.

Leftist professors preach while the others teach

This coming from a person who admits we need to kill trump supporters of trump gets too powerful

A person who cheered the shooting of Steve scalese

But please, go on telling us how much smarter and ethical you are than everyone else

That's just morality, and I don't think any ideology has the monopoly on that. Acting like the left does just negates the claim that it is about inclusivity.

The discussion might as well be about the fact that the majority of Americans cannot look at multiple pieces of information, compare them and then determine what is best for them. They do not have enough intelligence. They can only be told what they should think.

Lots of people are influenced without their participation are you kidding?

Um... are you kidding??? If anyone does anything -- including being "influenced" -- then, by definition, they are participating. Are they fully aware and cognizant of all the implications of their specific participation? Probably not, since no one is aware of each and every implication of any and every action. But they are most definitely a participant. If they act or re-act in any way to the outside stimulation, then they are a participant AND co-operating in direction response to the external stimuli.

I laugh at folks who think they are above it all but others are willing victims.

Well, all such generalizations are incorrect.

What shampoo do you use?

Pantene shampoo and conditioner in one.

How'd you hear about it?

I didn't "hear" about it. I wanted a shampoo and conditioner in one, I checked out the available products and it fit my needs so I got it. Even if someone had told me about it, it was still up to me to check it out and make sure it's what I wanted and needed. I don't buy anything because someone told me to. And even after that, if I didn't like it after I used it I wouldn't have bought it again. Especially not because I "heard" something.

What was the last book you read?

Still reading... "The Somerset Village Book."

Where'd you hear about it?

I didn't "hear" about it. I knew what I wanted to read/learn about and went looking for books on the subject and I found it. And I bought it. And several others.

What a shock, eh? Imagine someone relying on their own resources!!! No one told me what to read about and no one told me where to read it. I managed to figure that out -- and do it! -- all by my lonesome.

Is your mind blown???

Jordan Peterson perfectly calls out these faux ethical intellectuals on the left

He shows how George Orwell was himself a socialist who identified with the worker

He wrote the road to Wigan pier for socialist publications about how bad life was for the working class in Britain

The second half of the book is about how all of the self congratulating socialists intellectuals didn’t actual care for the poor at all, but rather they hated the wealthy

Orwell knew what drove many of these intellectuals wasn’t compassion for those with less, but hatred for those with more

Ask one of these people, how come there wealth is perfectly fine, but the criteria for being unethically greedy is always just having a little more than they themselves have?

Truebritis yet another that claims intellectual and ethical superiority while calling for violence against those that disagree with him, while endorsing a system that is responsible for the murder of hundreds of millions of people in the 20th century

Ask yourself, would a truly intellectual person say with a straight face that on political ideology had the smart people, and the other the dumb?

would a truly ethical person be so quick to name call those they disagree with and suggest they are morally inferior and violence is justified against them?

I may disagree with true Brit and the other self professed intellectual leftists, but I would never seek to censor them, or call for violence against them

The fact so many watch Fox despite having so many alternatives might tell us something, like they are starved for a source of news which doesn't constantly hate on their president, maybe they are sick of listening to cry babies and find people like Tucker to be refreshing

Fox hasn't dramatically gained viewers since Trump became president.
It's the same drooling idiots that watched Fox News during the Obama presidency and pissed their pants of joy when fox did segments of questioning Obamas birth certificate, Obama being a Muslim, Obama this and Obama that.
It's the same drooling idiots that moan because left wing media is treating Trump same way Fox News treated Obama. Talk about crybabies!
You can find the answer Why Fox News Channel is the most viewed in the USA in your own post. Fox News is the only right leaning msm in the US while there are many left leaning channels to chose from. Had CNN been the only left leaning channel than you could argue that more people prefer to watch conservative 'machos" spout crap than left leaning "sissies".

Refreshing to hear.

On the other hand

If it takes a commercial with cool looking kids doing fun stuff not even related to the subject then there is a pretty good chance the product isn't worth it. But then it works very often.

I'll humor your original implication that some places only have one local news network, and some of those are a Fox affiliate.

How many places have one left leaning network? How many only have one left leaning news paper?

If you learn to understand the issues and make your own decision on them then you will be OK. No one is forced at this point to watch specific news casts.

Once we start carving pieces out of free speech it will at some point be gone.

I digress....we are forced to watch what is fed to us by the private ownership of the MSM conduits we choose from...its frying pan or fire and multiple MSM entities are owned by a collective of powerful people who work together anyways....we are not forced to turn our TV on but when ALL OF THE CONTENT IS CONTROLLED AND OWNED PRIVATELY....then we become victims of individual propaganda from a grassroots source that cannot ever be removed nor mitigated.

Private onwership of MSM is NOT FREE SPEECH it is a MONOPOLY and it is bastardization of the free speech intention and principal....if we wish to support and preserve and even strengthen and grow FREE SPEECH we will immdiatly begin to disenfranchise and then dissect ALL MSM media conduits that are being mainlined directly into peoples homes minds and lives.

So lest get them identified and named and listed so we all know aht we are dealing with.
