Here are a few images form a Mars Express digital terrain map draped with color in a 3D view.

HRSC image 2271_0009

It is an interesting landscape. The craters have strange shapes. Lots of flat areas and hills. Water, ice and mud all come to mind looking at the images.

Excuse the artifacts from the upload process. All the images can be seen full size and more can be found here on flickr

Dunes with avalanches of something dark.

Fascinating OP, your last photo seems to have a carving or mound of a naked dancing woman on the left.
Perhaps it's pareidolia, but I have to be honest, it really looks that way.
Nice child-bearing hips too.

I'm not joking - I really see this!
Perhaps a bit scattered by time, but close enough for a Facebook algorithm to ban it for nudity.

Looks like a nasty fungal infection, I'd be getting that looked at.

So, the first part of your handle should be "dirty?"

It's unmistakable!
Clearer than that "face" they found!

They are defrosting dunes. Not sure what the official answer is for the dark stuff (sand?), but it looks like they are leaking something.

No, check out the last photo on the OP's list.

Towards the bottom left.

A dancing naked figure with breasts.

The posture strangely reminds me of the figure on David Icke's And the Truth shall set You Free.
www.davidicke.com...
I mean the dancing pose, no breasts obviously on Icke's book (and the image I see has none of the details), but it does have breasts.
Almost like it's being being reflected, or upside down right at the bottom, but cut-off at that point.

Like Lady Godiva if she went ice-skating.

It could be something like that.

Yea, look close above her boobs is her head and she has rabbit ears, really. Pareidolia without a doubt.

Perhaps, could be her hair blowing in the wind, but at least I'm not the only person here anymore to see boobs.

It could also be a human/animal mask or chimera (similar to prehistoric or shamanic figures).

Well I see her with arms in the air, like she's having a really wild time.

Water, ice and mud all come to mind looking at the images.

Yes, there was liquid water and mud on Mars in the distant past, and it played its part in the formation of the terrain you see today.

That crater does look quite broken up. Perhaps it's undergone a similar kind of process which created the "chaos terrain" places on Mars.

The HiRISE page for an image of the crater floor specifies "Sedimentary / Layering Processes", so perhaps that crater used to be filled with water. hirise.lpl.arizona.edu...
