Mueller's team wants George Papadopoulos to spend 6 months in jail, says lying impeded investigation

Oh really
This is the cost of a "lie to an fbi agent"?
Special counsel prosecutors are asking a judge to sentence Papadopoulos to up to six months in prison, according to a court filing on Friday. The former Trump campaign staffer pleaded guilty last October to one count of lying to investigators over his interactions about the Trump campaign with foreign contacts who had connections to Russia.
Oh and also......
in another curious detail in the filing, the special counsel team said Papadopoulos had been given $10,000 in cash "from a foreign national whom he believed was likely an intelligence officer of a foreign country." The filing noted that the country was "other than Russia."
Mueller has also recommended a $9,500 fine.

Hmm...
Those people granted immunity in the Manafort case will they be held to th he same standard?
Or how about those granted immunity in the HRC email case?

This apparantly is the standard moving forward.....remember that when others are accused of lies and not purjury which is much more serious right?

This could come back and bite him right on the ass when it is his turn to front the courts as a defendant.

He has told some big porkies.

6 months is the bare bones of penalty for a felony...

You get ATLEAST 5 years for getting caught with drugs.. you might only serve a year or 6 months but your penalty will read 5+ years..

6 monthes is NOTHING.. they are all lucky they are not catching espionage charges.

Personally, I think it's just more hype from Mueller or CNN...

The government has filed a sentencing memorandum in the case of George Papadopoulos, recommending a sentence of between zero to six months. The document is available in full below.

If Papadopoulos sees actual jail time, there's going to be hell to pay for all of the lies that have been told under oath by Comey and others inside our intelligence agencies.

I have to admit having read his affadavit im not convinced his lie was not just an error of memory. His lie had to do with when he met that professor with russian contacts. He claimed it was before he was joining the campaign. Where it was shown that he was aware he was chosen to join the campaign in april. Looking back in hindsight he wasn't working at the white house yet so i can see his confusion. But yes the professor would have known he was joining the white house.

Or how about those granted immunity in the HRC email case

What does this mean?
They were granted immunity to testify. They didn't lie to the FBI. The immunity was to her staff who could reveal crimes she might have committed without being liable themselves. Since no charges were ever levied against Clinton they sure wouldn't be levied against her staff.

In the Manafort case you really think his tax accountants should get in trouble?
They didn't lie. They didn't evade paying taxes. They just went along with him on the income figures.
What ever.
Yeah trump yea anyone associated with him. Yea to everybody who knows him. They're all good people. Great people... Only the best people...

So, how long would Hillary spend in jail for lying to the FBI? I hear that orange pant suits are in vogue in the slammer.

Between 30 days and 6 months in jail.

WHY?

Because Papadopoulos is considering REVOKING/CANCELLING his plea-bargain/deal with Bob Mueller.

From the Conservative Tree House...

The basic charge against Papadopoulos was lying about the timing and substance of his meeting with Maltese professor Joseph Mifsud.

In the meanwhile, Mifsud disappeared sometime around the end of 2017...

Maltese Professor Joseph Mifsud, who has gained international notoriety for allegedly being the person who connected the Trump campaign to the Russians looking to derail Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, is not only on the run from the Americans, Russians and the press, but also from the Italian judicial authorities, who have been unable to track down the wayward academic.

This week, in fact, Mifsud was a no-show in the courts of Palermo, where he was to answer to charges, along with two others, of having unjustifiably inflated salaries at a university consortium in Agrigento, Sicily, which he presided almost a decade ago.

At a hearing in Palermo, Italy, Joseph Mifsud was described as “a ghost” after neither he nor his lawyers turned up in court on Wednesday.

Sicilian prosecutors described Mifsud as a “peculiar subject” and said that all attempts to reach and notify the professor about the hearing had proved futile.

I’d venture to say seeing as we’ve had Strzok and other unnamed FBI agents lie outright during this “investigation” it’s the “double standard moving forward”

Also “not Russia....”
