I grew up in Denver, Colorado. I live in Mexico with my children. In fact we haven't visited the states in many years. They did go this summer for a few weeks to visit their grandparents. When they got back a friend of mine who lives in Virginia asked them what they thought. They said they were impressed by the beauty and the array of restaurants and food available and wanted to go live where they were born.

My friend, who lives in the wealthiest county of the United States (in basically a mansion), said something very insightful. He said, perhaps where you grew up was where you are supposed to be. The US isn't exactly what everyone imagines it to be.

He was just watching a few of those videos with me about the homelessness in LA. And asked me, why? Where is there so much homelessness in the United States if it is so rich?

I figure it is the same reason the problem is here. Here we can go to parts of town and see people living in cardboard boxes.

It is government corruption, and failure of governance. Only Jesus' kingdom government will solve mankind's problems. People need to wake up and see that no human government will solve our problems.

Because over a long period of time Democrats have achieved their goals in these places - of a poor, desperate and needy population, with no future, totally reliant on a wealthy authoritarian elite.

Other than the problems caused by lack of facilities, those living in the tent cities are living a whole lot greener than most of the rest of us.

This is it! Generational poverty creating millions of poor, desperate, needy people whose unfortunate situation contributed to their mental illness, perpetuating with every generation. And the wealthy elite whose generational prosperity and opportunity has separated them from being able to relate to the situation - like those who feel like volunteering at a homeless shelter during the holidays is "close experience" of the plight of the underprivileged and that mentally well people just choose to poop on the street out of spite.

Hell, my city is 42nd on that list and it's a goddamn crime riddled, tweaker infested, homeless plagued, fetid feral human sheltering #hole. Presently just waiting patiently on some work opportunities to pull the trigger and move the hell out of this craphole excuse for a city while remaining in beautiful Alaska. And yes, the problems in Anchorage have become problems since the city adopted many of the same failing policies as San Fransisco did... appeasing the lowest common denominator, providing for them, sheltering them, etc. It's a calling card of failure.

You look at Western Canada's stats and, frankly, the problem is large cities located in the midst of rural regions. They attract humanity's cockroaches. The answer is an iron fist where enforcement and tolerance is concerned. Screw up badly enough and instead of getting coddled and covered for, you should get removed permanently from the community.

Right, and all the mentally ill will easily adjust! Definitely the reason for all this drug addiction and homelessness is a lack of laws and law enforcement! Just punish and alienate people who haven’t been given any direction in life! It’s definitely their own fault for not trying harder and doesn’t have anything to do with the lack of resources and attention, and abuse many of these people received as children!
