Socialism would be the death to the Constitution.

Uniform taxation.

You think the founding fathers didn't think of safety nets, but guess what ?

THEY KNEW BETTER.

That's an outright lie. The war on poverty has been the biggest waste of tax payer since this countries founding.

And the war on drugs was free? How about the wars in the middle east? How about the cost of spreading our military all across the globe?

Sounds to me like you do not have an issue with socialism. You have an issue with incorrect priorities and wasteful spending.

Probably not.

Like your post, but I want to go one further.

Socialism stops the individual from failing . If one cannot fail, one cannot really secede...one can only exist(for a lack of a better word)

It's not socialism.

Biggest reason its the return from investment.

Middle class TAX PAYING jobs that actually PAY INCOME TAX.

Socialism just robs peter to pay paul with a hell of a lot of diminishing return.

'Wealth destruction' as opposed to WEALTH CREATION.

Ya, the military is socialism. You are robbing everyone to pay for the military, right?

And it's in the constitution.

Socialism is an economic system like capitalism.
Socialism has its good sides and bad sides just like capitalsm.
The core of capitalism is free market and it knows no borders or nationalities.
Many of you who endorse capitalism and dislike socialism but want closed borders and American companies to return to the US are in fact ideologically closer to national socialism than capitalism.

No it's not GD it.

Every single person gets a direct benefit from it.

IT promotes the general welfare instead of sinking this country deeper in debt.

Social security forced the employee, employer to lose income for decades before ever seeing a dime.

NO intellectually HONEST person calls social security, socialism.

IT's nothing but a GD ponzi scheme.

No.

We can go back and forth and quote sources and citations.

The point being is that we have a corrupt government now.

Right now.

We have limited, but we do have checks and balances to limit this corruption.

Socialism would eliminate the checks and balances and give us a corrupt socialist government.

You would be trading a corrupt representative republic government with a corrupt socialist government.

And as history has shown us, the corrupt socialist governments work so effing well! (sarcasm)

The Taxing and Spending Clause[1] (which contains provisions known as the General Welfare Clause)[2] and the Uniformity Clause,[3] Article I, Section 8, Clause 1 of the United States Constitution, grants the federal government of the United States its power of taxation. While authorizing Congress to levy taxes, this clause permits the levying of taxes for two purposes only: to pay the debts of the United States, and to provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States.

en.wikipedia.org...

To pay the DEBTS OF THE UNITED STATES.

Not effing Neo and introvert's debts.

Open borders and socialism??? Do the idiots not realize that either one of these two spell the death of America? Literally. With no borders, we are Mexico. Without capitalism, we are Russia.

True. By definition, socialism is in the constitution.

Quote whomever you like. I can quote the constitution.

The point being is that we have a corrupt government now. Right now.

That can happen in any system. What's your point?

We have limited, but we do have checks and balances to limit this corruption. Socialism would eliminate the checks and balances and give us a corrupt socialist government.

Socialism is an economic theory/system. It exists within a government system. It does not create a government itself.

You would be trading a corrupt representative republic government with a corrupt socialist government. And as history has shown us, the corrupt socialist governments work so effing well!

Not sure you are helping make your point and better. Corruption can exist in any system, as your post shows.

Who said anything about paying our personal debt?

Are you arguing against a point no one has made?
