That really derails the "socialism isn't popular on the left, that's just right-wing scare tactics" narrative.

How does does socialism kill innovation or self reliance?

Do you think Zuckerberg,Gates, or the Google founders started their business to make peoples lives better?

Hell no.

They did it to get stinking, filthy RICH.

If everything is going to be handed to you.

There's no point in doing anything.

Eventually we'll see socialism here and the great American experiment will be done.

They have a whole continent in Europe they can move to, but instead want to crap all over America. We need some place to be free of the socialists and failed European policies.

You guys are funny.

Scared, ignorant little men.

I find it funny that those wanting a socialist government style cannot point out how it is going to be paid for.

As far as the "scared, ignorant little men" part. is it possible that most rational people look at socialism historically?

So far, it has had about a 150 year run, has never worked and has killed millions upon millions of people.

To me that would be something to be scared of.

But but... it will work this time!!!!

What we should be doing is pointing out that socialism as a theory works. But that's it. In reality, we should have stopped talking about it 100 years ago.

Those that still cling to the idea should be laughed at.

As I am laughing at you.

What's funny is that those of you who laugh, are so ignorant to the fact you live with socialism everyday, enjoy it, and then bash it as if you were taught to do so.

Socialism is like herpes.

It tends to flare up occasionally.

I've said before, at some point in the near future we'll have to look at a socialism type of economic system or trade/barter once we move into the post-occupational Era. Caused by automation and AI.

But we are not at the point yet, and trying to force it will just lead to collapsing the economy and more unrest and wars.

I do not think we will ever see a purely socialist economic system. It is vital that we have a mixed economy.

Have you been in a socialist country, I mean living not like a tourist ?

Yes. I am citizen of the US.

Been working just fine.

What part of the $21 trillion debt did you miss?

The biggest creation of that debt is that fabulous socialism.

Socialism has been creeping on and ruining the experiment.

Socialism is freedom FROM responsibility, freedom FROM individuality.

Socialism is the antithesis of freedom.

In my humble opinion.

I know what your question was. Perhaps the answer went over your head.

Think about it for a few.

That is true.

Our debt is a product of what happens when we focus our socialist ventures on things like war, security over freedom, etc.

If only the Left and Right would use our collective wealth for much better things.

@akenheath24

Would you rather have the government take money for SS or would you rather put that money in the stock market? What do you think would give you a better return for your money?

How many paychecks could you miss before you would need to file for bankruptcy? No matter what medical system you are in, being really sick means losing paychecks which means falling behind. People just look for conformation bias

Socialism has not crept up on us. It's always been here.

Socialism is social responsibility by a collective of individuals.

You believe there cannot be freedom or individuality because you have been taught to believe that.

Even our constitution uses socialist principles.

That's an outright lie.

The war on poverty has been the biggest waste of tax payer money since this countries founding.

www.heritage.org...

$22 trillion dollars with not a damn thing to show for except more people in poverty, and dependent upon the state.

OVer $2 trillion of current federal spending goes on WELFARE programs.
