That money he has is no longer in circulation, the people don't have that money to spend. It's more money leaving the economy into offshore accounts.

The vast bulk of his wealth is not cash... it's stock in Amazon. Amazon stock is pretty safe and makes a good investment. So the value steadily grows.

The economy is NOT a zero-sum game. One can make a deal which benefits both parties. If I need a car to go to work, when I buy that car I have increased my wealth because I can get to work to make more. I have also increased the wealth of the car salesman, the car manufacturer, the workers who made the car, the companies who made the car parts, ad infinitum. No one lost... everyone gained.

And the people who work at Amazon certainly DO have that money to spend... some of it anyway. If Amazon didn't exist, do you really think they would still have that money? Do you think that somehow money would pop into existence in the hands of the poor and downtrodden?

It don't work that way!

If anything Bezos has increased the amount of money available, not decreased it. Do the schools even teach economics any more?
