I'm saying it is not uncommon for someone to purchase a company as an investment vehicle only, and never do anything directly with it. Bezos built Amazon from the ground up... yes, he owns and runs it. He did not build the Washington Post from the ground up, so it might be an investment vehicle only, or he might be running it.

I'm asking which one applies.

Which, in turn, publishes

The Washington Post.

Thank you for clarifying that. He owns a holding company which indicates he does not get involved with the Washington Post. All he did was buy some investment stock. notsure1 seems to not understand how that works and couldn't answer my question.
