I wasn't being confrontational with you, I agree with your post. And I also don't think she should accept, but I wish she did. She did not reply well, and she is not very smart, it would appear to me, but I don't know her. I think Ben Shapiro would wipe the floor with her the way I would with DJT.

And yes as others have written, Ben is a pundit on a very questionable propaganda website, Daily Wire. He does not have a journalist background, does not have the journalist integrity (who does these days?) and would just lead the debate his way and say whatever he needs to say, even if inaccurate-- she should not accept if she wants to be taken seriously.

Oh but I wish she would!

Not LADY LIKE enough for you?

She's a coward.

I wouldn't agree with you if she didn't resort to the wording she did. I think she was rude about a nice offer. A simple, "Thank you for the offer, but I'm going to decline" would fit.

Or sticking to her original statement of not owing a response, she could have just said nothing about his offer at all.

Why do women always need to be nice when approached by the blatantly insincere? With a man it would be considered a measured response.

I refer you to the following podcast - about how 'rude' the female supreme court justices have to be just in order to be respected and heard:

www.wnycstudios.org...

This has nothing to do with her gender.

As I said in another post I hope she does well so it encourages new blood in the political ranks.

I don't agree with her platform, but that's not always the end all be all with me.

That said it's my opinion she handled it wrong. She hasn't established herself or even gotten elected to have enough slack to bring on negative attention when she doesn't have to.

Again, just my opinion.

No one said anything about this because she is a woman. Not everything boils down to identity politics for people.

I could give a rats ass about gender, creed(unless it was crazy extreme) , ethnicity or race. I judge them all the same.

Ocasio-Cortez: Republicans are afraid to debate me or talk to me.

Ben Shapiro: Ill debate you and give your campaign/charity 10k on top of that.

Ocasio-Cortez: Stop catcalling!!

Im waiting for the day simply saying good morning mam to a woman will be considered catcalling, sexual assault, or toxic masculinity to you sick demented people.

I dub her Queen of the snowflakes, empress of the libitards, ruler of the trigglypuffs and supreme ruler of the brain dead.

Totally would bang though

I bet he might’ve gotten a better response, even an acceptance, if he didn’t put a monetary number on it. Just invite her on to debate. I seriously doubt she’s afraid to speak and spread her message.

Why isn’t Ben offering money to anyone else? Just a beautiful young woman? What about a hunched over old Jewish man? Crazy Bernie might just be crazzzzzy enough to do it!

Bad optics. Lacks respect.

I think we have a different opinion when it comes to what integrity is.

Cat-Calls are a disgusting derogatory behavior that has no place in society. What Ben Shapiro did is called politics. Equating the 2 is either ignorance or disingenuous but not a sign of integrity.

She claimed she owed him no response yet gave him a response. He got exactly what he was after.

Integrity looks more like one of these options.

1. Ignore the offer completely because there was no need to respond.

2. Tell him she doesn't appreciate him promoting himself based on her fame and that she would not be debating him.

If she really feels like people calling on her for debates is like cat-calling she is in way over her head, because this is politics. You don't just get to sit on your unicorn and proclaim free everything and not have to answer to anyone about how exactly this free stuff is going to be paid for. She has proven time and again she doesn't understand her own platform.

And yet - had she not responded - what would you have said then?

She responded in an appropriate ("a proportional response") manner that showed consistency with her values - that is my definition of integrity.

She is walking her talk and abides no self-promoting fools.

She says no one will debate her.
Someone offers.
She equates the offer to sexual harassment.

Enough said.

That's a hilariously reply. He wasn't asking her for sex. He offered her the money because he knew she would say no and it made her look that much worse when her campaign would have been helped so greatly.

Socialist communists can't allow themselves into some "debate" or they would be destroyed as the total fraudsters they are.

Just ask any Chinese Communist party official if they would ever accept an offer to be debated. Just suggesting such a thing in China would get you a reservation at a rehabilitation facility for "correction".

This woman must use all the dirty tricks instead to sneak into an authoritative position within our type of government.

Unless the term "catcalling" has made a comeback, it's an odd term for a person in her age group to use ? The 1st thing I thought was that it sounded more like a term Bernie would use, maybe he coached her ?! I don't know that she's bright enough to come up with such a "creative" way to avoid having a debate with someone who would probably destroy her with FACTS ! Pretty clever stuff , avoid the debate, push the "sexist" agenda, appear "victimized" AND claim the "high ground" based on "Integrity"....WOW......

She doesn't believe that EVERYONE who has 'cat called' another is a sexual predator and it is beyond silly over the top hyperbole.

Glad you feel that way, unfortunately that's not what I said. Or even related to what I said.

Is insinuating that everyone she disgrees with, is a sexual-predator going to be her default goto defense ?

That's what I said. I asked if this activity is going to be her goto defense. Making disparaging comments to anyone wanting to discuss or debate the topics, is a terrible and uncivil demeanor. Wouldn't you agree ?

However, and I ask this question seriously, DO YOU think/believe it is okay to 'cat-calling'?

Again completely and utterly unrelated to what I wrote, I wonder if you even read what you're quoting.

DO YOU believe/think that you have a right to so?

To debate someone about my political beliefs ? Yes. To discuss politics and political differences ? Yes. Again what a silly question. Do I have the right to slander someone or insinuate predatory behavior, like she did ? No, not really.
