Ok, I looked up this vape..

Juul, not jewel,, sorry.

This damn thing is the size of a usb memory stick!
They took away my kids bookbag and purse for something so easily hidden?

How can an institution supposedly dedicated to learning be so damn stupid?

I'ts way cheaper to vape too.

Use to spend $250 a month on cigs.

Now I spend $25 a month on the 'juice'.

Cost benefit helluva savings.

The safety issue was more of a side note.

My main point was, it's gross. People who do it are gross.

And I stand by that.

Do some research on the negative effects of vaping.

Smoke/plume whatever.

The technicality nerds around here are obnoxious.

Lol

While we are telling people what to research, why dont you look up some decent peer-reviewed studies on harm minimization?

The amount of smoke that comes from a vaper, is nauseating. I would be shocked if it wasn't worse for you than cigarettes.

Anyway it's just gross. That's all I've got to add.

Cheers.

There is no "smoke" from a vape..

Do some research before commenting on something if you don't know what your are talking about..

I'll wait...............

I have done research, aside from the big tobacco funded studies (I'll include those for good measure) there are no proven long term health risks right now.

Big tobacco says you can get popcorn lung, which is treatable.

Smoking cigaretttes can cause cancers, heart disease, and stroke just to name a few life threatening ramifications.

Cigarette smoking causes more than 480,000 deaths each year in the United States. This is nearly one in five deaths.Smoking causes more deaths each year than the following causes combined:
Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Illegal drug use
Alcohol use
Motor vehicle injuries
Firearm-related incidents

CDC

So far there are no none deaths from vapor consumption (maybe a few bad battery explosions though).

You are entitled to your opinion however.

I was a cigarette smoker for 14 years, stopped cigs and low level vaped for 5 weeks and free from both of the habits for nearly 10 months now.

It sounds like the posters topic was "chill out", but I must agree that the amount of vapor that some vapes put out is nauseating. I personally can't stand the huge clouds that some devices cause and the arrogance in some vapers
a) thinking it's okay to imbue others in their clouds of vapor with total disregard for their preferences or their exposure to nicotine(I know not all have nicotine).
b) The ignorance in thinking it MUST be better than cigs because "they" say it is..and it's only 2 ingredients; Oils and flavor...with total disregard that neither of those things are one true ingredient, they are a mix of ingredients of which "Flavor" chemically produced.

As for the initial post...When my kids are 16, I won't be happy if my kids vape or watch porn...I started cigarettes then, and porn much sooner...I wouldn't want either of those things for my kids. A lot of people think it's totally normal, but porn is messing up many relationships due to "underwhelming" sexual relations with partners now a days. It has set unrealistic expectations of both men and women and also in recent years has become more degrading than ever while becoming more main stream. This is not healthy for our society in the long run!

I wouldn't FLIP out on my kids...but I would definitely not support or be happy about the decisions they've made. That said, I will do everything in my power not to randomly "find out", but more so try to ensure communication and understanding of what my child is going through. I'd rather my kid tell me they started vaping, then finding out!

This arguement is overkill for a lot vapers...
Most vapers I know spend much more than 25$ a month on juice, and they buy a new better vape every 3-6 months...Yes it's cheaper, but saying it's only 25$ per month is without counting the device, the change in coils, tanks, batteries...and the juice used is directly correlated to the type of vape you use...

Congrats, that is a big accomplishment. Have you noticed a difference in taste? I heard that's a big change for longtime smokers.

As for your other points, I think you're right on all of them.

Harmless is disingenuous to say, but I'd be surprised if there are significant number of deaths linked to vaping in years to come.

I'll also strongly agree the ones who do it around unconsenting people are rather inconsiderate.

I insist on saying, I'm mostly sure that vaping is better than cigarettes...
BUT
I also insist on saying that the first 10-20 years of cigarettes becoming "Cool" and used by everyone, nearly no one was dying from cancer yet. The effects of many of the things we do today will only be felt 20+ years down the line.

"Reasearch" whomever it is funded by can not know the long term effects on humans until humans have been consuming said product long term.
Rare we're studies claiming cigarettes we're bad for you 40-50 years ago. Doctors told pregnant women to smoke while in labor since it would relax them....

Batteries have lasted longer than a year.

Coils 2 multi packs spread out over more than a year.

Never changed the tank.

Device itself Vapresso Target PRo more than a year.

Still cheaper.

$3000 for cigagreets.

Around $460 ish for unit,coils,batteries,juice.

Still cheaper.

The taste...is crazy different. I didn't notice it right away...but i started noticing about 3-4 months in when I went to certain restaurants I really liked and ate some of the stuff I normally loved...The salt was burning my tongue, sugar has become overwhelming in certain deserts...

You certainly have a valid point.

However I do think it is important to say that medicine, technology, and research practices were quite different back then. They also prescribed narcotic grade stimulants as diet pills back in the day, along with MDMA (main component of ecstacy) for depression.

Times are different, maybe we are more advanced. That said, you may still be right. We do still prescribe an alarming amount of salt-amphetamines (adderall and other variants) to mass amounts of children, and opiates to people with minor pain.

That's one of my biggest fears. I am a huge foodie. Although sugar rubs me the wrong way in general. The amount of it in soft drinks and desserts are overwhelming. The only time I drink soda is if I'm sick (once every few years), I'll get ginger ale and club soda, cut half and half and add fresh sliced ginger root. I eat sweets maybe once a month. It makes me nauseous if I consume much more.

As I said, absolutely cheaper...not 25$ a month cheaper.
Also as I said, you may be disciplined, but I know many vapers that simply change device or battery every max 6 months.

Still totally agree. Much cheaper...no doubt.
