so ...
Mike Pence giving a speech at The Pentagon today rolls out the initial vision of the new Space Force.

he talks about...among other things.....

America's security in space, National Defence, American dominance in space.
He quotes DJT often during his speech,

" It is not enough for America to have a presence in space, we must have American dominance in space " DJT

The Space Force is to become the 6th branch of the US military, for the cause of liberty and peace in the new battlefield of space. He talks about how other countries are challenging the US in space.

It seems that Trump's space force is going to need a heeeuuge investment of new military cash, some coming the way of his increased military budget. All good for the MIC
link here to Pence's speech

A few thoughts of my own,

There is a Space Treaty , that many countries have signed into, with agreements regarding weaponizing and militarizing space. Is this another treaty that trump is just gonna rip up and trash ? Because...America First ?

Trump's special power seems to be branding everything he touches as Brand Trump, in some ways he is branding the actual presidency of the US as POTUS Trump style.

Pence says that although there are many countries involved in space exploration and technology...they do not have American ideals when it comes to private property and the rule of law. ? puzzled by that particular comment

Trumps Space Force in Star Trek terms...is beginning to sound like the Borg !
resistance is futile

Anyway...thoughts?

Trump's space force?

Is that like the Schwartz from Spaceballs?

I could see Trump dressed like a mog, trying to duke it out with Lord Helmet.

Your thread is way more elaborate than mine.

Mods please close that one or Mr. cosmickat if you don't mind adding your thoughts in there

Ahh sorry vinifalou.
We must have posted within a few mins of each other.

Diff forums though..not sure if that matters.
As long as we don't get thrown in the Q thread

( shudder )

Hopefully nasa stays out of the way.
We can't afford their incompetence.

Read the treaty carefully. The only thing it outright bans is WMDs in orbit, or placed on non-terrestrial bodies. It doesn't say anything about weapons satellites or any other weapons. In fact the Soviet Union put a 23mm canon on one of their space stations and tested it in orbit.

I wonder if there is a prop bet on one of the online casinos.

Will Trump go to space in a Bush like way with a mission accomplished sign.

Payouts gotta be good.

Laser beams fired up and pointed down to earth.
So much space junk up there as it is.

No need to apologies!

I think it's very exciting news that we're looking more at the space.

We need to find out solutions from our problems and I think that evolving to a type 1 civilization will help this.

There have long been rumors that SDI didn't entirely go away when it was killed. According to said rumors there have long been systems in orbit related to the program. And other rumors that they've put more advanced up since then.

In the metric engineering approach, the application of the principles gives precise predictions as to what can Ье expected as spatial and temporal variables аге altered from their usual (that is, flat space) structure. Signatures of the predicted contractions and expansions of space, slowdown and speedup of time, alteration of effective mass, speed of light and associated consequences, both as occur in natural phenomena in nature and with regard to spacetimes specifically engineered for advanced aerospace applications, are succinctly summarized in Таbе 1.

Yes, and it's very mundane and boring. It can't do a lot because of its size.

Would not surprise me at all.
I mean how are we going to ever know what they have up there really ?

Becausw it's Trump, lets shame our new focus on Space, SMDH.

This is very good and any funding towards a new generation of young minds being shaped for an inevitable human direction should be appluaded.

As I said before, if not US someone else WILL.

The mentality of trying to oppose anything such as this direction is futile and fruitless. The energy is best spent on understanding the mechanics and cheerleading your nation on this one, it's a new frontier.

Truth is, I'm backing this plan in its entirety.

Okay doke

Never said I didn't think it was exciting..pioneering and groundbreaking. I like all things spacey. You could even call me a spacecadet.

I have questions..and a few concerns about weaponizing space.

It's progress. Which I also like.

See... I can have all of these opinions and thoughts...not still not rate Trump and his motives.

And I did end with resistance is futile

Well it's cool as hell, but the average person would find it boring as hell.
