The higher ups still work on this place? Haven't seen much of them in quite some time.
I was under the impression they lost interest.

That is not the case and "higher ups" have been working on this since it started a few hours ago. Be patient.

I'm chill. Just stating observations not complaining.

Chrome developer tools (Console) offer possible clues.

Uncaught TypeError: $(...).spectrum is not a function
at pg1:512
jQuery-1.7.1.js:10 [Deprecation] Synchronous XMLHttpRequest on the main thread is deprecated because of its detrimental effects to the end user's experience. For more help, check xhr.spec.whatwg.org...
send @ jQuery-1.7.1.js:10
toolbarLib.js:1 TSRInitToolTip not exists

I've been watching the console for several page loads and haven't seen that. Can't reproduce the issue on any browser.

Do you have Firefox installed?
If not, give it a try. It's free, so it can't hurt. It might solve your frustrations.
You can always go back to Chrome later if you prefer it.

I'm on Chrome now, still no issues.

I have seen a couple console errors for an ad that's not loading. Perhaps that's causing some JavaScript issues for a few users.

I've alerted our ad provider to see if they negate those ads, if these issues go away.

I was able to reproduce it just now with a fresh load of Chrome - this thread, page 1.
Same errors.
Chrome version Version 68.0.3440.106 (Official Build) (64-bit)

That makes sense!
I wondered if there might be some blank overlays, hence the problem clicking the flag and the left icons.
That could be caused by ads that are failing to load.

Which is even better evidence of an errant partially loaded ad possibly preventing the page elements from fully loading... leaving some JavaScript functions hanging.

You'd be getting different ads than me.

LOL.
I already have a job doing this, but thanks. That's why I could not resist checking just a bit. It kind of gets in the blood.
The hardest issues to troubleshoot are those that are random and impossible to reproduce. It can be frustrating as heck.
- But honestly, the challenges are the fun part. Life gets boring without challenges.

This load cycle thing has been noticeable.

Yes, it is absolutely a blank overlay to the left.
Must be a special ad for some of us

But SO already knows that
