Yes, thank you. From your link -

Chris Murphy, D-Conn., is calling on other tech companies to ban more sites like InfoWars, and says the survival of American democracy depends on it.

“Infowars is the tip of a giant iceberg of hate and lies that uses sites like Facebook and YouTube to tear our nation apart. These companies must do more than take down one website. The survival of our democracy depends on it,” Murphy tweeted Monday.

He was referring to the liars and hoaxers, like Jones, and the Russian cyber hoaxers.

When people form opinions and cast their votes based on lies and hoaxes, it does interfere with our democracy, and creates further division among us. Case in point, the Russians have interfered with our democracy in 2016 and continue to do so.

I think we should all agree that it should stop, no matter which direction they want to take us, we must maintain our own direction.

That's so beautiful. *tear*

Now if only we could get democrats on board. You know, stop destroying democracy by engineering primaries to favor one candidate over the other, stop reaching out to former MI6 spies who then reach out to Russians for dirt on a presidential candidate...

You know, that kind of stuff.

Its not about left wing agendas. Jones is a psychopath. I used to follow him. Watched his documentaries/expose. He went crazy loon and he foments incorrect thinking..thats right i said he foments bad thinking processes.

But you watched him and he didn't corrupt you. Right? What's so special about you that you're immune to his dreadful mind voodoo? Why can't everyone else be trusted to be as discerning as you are? Why shouldn't they be expected to be adults about it?

Could it be because this is something our "education system" never prepared us for? Could it be because what we have been calling "education" has nothing at all to do with teaching people to think properly and instead is teaching people to just store information indiscriminately as if it all comes from a good place?

Critical thinking skills! Now there's an idea for a real educational system if I've ever heard one. But if we did that we'd have to worry that kids would grow up and start seeing all the gross inconsistencies all around them. We'd have to worry that they'd ask questions they aren't supposed to ask.

What has me concerned is that these tech giants seem to "own" about
80% of the internet!

Dude Stormfront has been on the internet for along time. Do you think it grew the National Socialists all that much. Alex is not a psychopath. He tends to be much more animated than most news hosts but that is his trademark. I watch him sometimes and he has been dead spot on some things not others. I think you are over reacting and censorship in any form is dangerous. It is a slippery slope. Who is next? You?

They work day and night. Thousands writing letters. Making phone calls. Sending emails, demanding these things.

They demand these things in movies , every new show must have a gay character. Minority.

It's so weird and they are so weird

YouTube is a private company.
Alex Jones is a brand and his shows are a product.
YouTube doesn't want to do business with AJ.
AJ can freely take his business somewhere else.
That's how capitalism works.
Own it

Really? You forgot the Wedding Cake Exemption.

I really think the socials are cutting off their nose to spite their face on this one. Innovation has a way of taking care of whack jobs like this. Facebook, Twitter and Youtube I think will rue the day they did this.

There are far worse things or at least very equal things to AJ on the far left that they ignore. One day the current masters of the socials may wake up and realize they are no longer useful to the real left wing masters. Freedom of thought and free speech is a two way street.

The argument is on the left that these are private companies so they do not need to adhere to the free speech argument. On the other hand, the left are the ones that want to control all industry through government control based on their left wing ideology. I think Obama said it best when he said "you didn't build that." Well if he can say that about a small business, what stops them from saying that about an industry that was founded on military research? Or the widely accepted left wing thought that All Gore built the Internet.

Once they silence their enemies, they will come for their friends.

One Dixiecrat said that? Heretic! It is known, that only The Don is allowed to voice his opinion on Twatter, so there's that as well.

Nuke em all from space!

Ask Augustus, we just had Antifa nuked for cracking a window or two with their WMD hammers. He's quick with the replies and pretty much the only one from NY City, who has the authority to represent the federal gubmint on ATS.

The site from AJ is still up though, what shutdown are you talking about? His stupid T&C violations on yesterdays social media platforms? We'll simply nuke Austin as well just to make sure that your shutdown actually happened, how's that?

Get ready you idiots!

The wedding cake keeps coming up. It doesn't apply to Alex Jones. That case was all about protected classes. Jones is not protected against discrimination by any law.

I will now watch Alex Jones. I didnt before, honestly. I usually just caught the down wind of his more notable shows.

If they think Info wars is what they have to worry about then they are absolutely retarded.

Also, Censoring a CONSPIRACY theorist is like crucifying Jesus. You just bought yourself a new religion, you simple jackasses.

The "protected class" was free to take its business elsewhere as well.

Don't agree at all with this morons tweet.

But OP being disingenuous again by ramping up a single tweet by one individual to try and paint it like the entire Democratic party is trying to ban websites that don't agree with their viewpoint. But then, used to the lack of intellectual honesty on the OPs part, so.. par for the course I guess.

Should add that I can't take seriously for a moment that certain people on this site actually support the constitution at all. They only support the parts of the constitution that is convenient for them to do so. They ignore infractions of their own party (and POTUS) because they actually agree with them / him.

There are a surprising number of good progressives, or at least people that are usually good progressives, that seem to agree with this. Ajamu Baraka says that progressives are the real target, and he just might be right. But even if he's not this is a slippery slope and it won't even work to stop his fringe believers.

Few people are asking why so many believe his worst claims. One of the most important reason why some people can't recognize incredibly bad conspiracy theories is because they're raised in an abusive emotional environment where they're taught to go along with the program and respond to irrational appeals to emotion.

Not that I think all conspiracy theories are nuts, the CIA has been studying how to manipulate people for decades, and a lot of the evidence has been admitted to in declassified documents showing a continuing pattern of behavior.

I'm not ruling out the possibility that Alex Jones and Quanon are CIA psyops to enable this attempt at censorship or something like that.
