Wait up, slow down, hold your horses;
this has been brewing for a while

Has the NRA been infiltrated by Russia
What are the implications for the GOP

Maria Butina: ties emerge between NRA, alleged spy and Russian billionaire

Senior members of the National Rifle Association (NRA) met the wife of the Russian billionaire who allegedly gave financial support to a woman accused of being a secret agent for Moscow in the US.

The NRA members met Svetlana Nikolaeva, who is the head of a gun company that supplies sniper rifles to the Russian military and intelligence services, during a trip to Moscow during the 2016 election campaign

Nikolaeva’s husband, Konstantin Nikolaev, allegedly provided funding to Maria Butina, a young Russian woman charged with carrying out an illicit spying operation in Washington. Nikolaev reportedly once invested in his wife’s gun company.

... snip ...

Butina, 29, was arrested this month and charged with illegally operating as a foreign agent.
She has pleaded not guilty and denies any wrongdoing.

Prosecutors said that her emails and online chats contained details of a Russian billionaire with “deep ties” to the Kremlin, who was described as Butina’s “funder”.

He was not identified in the charging documents, but was said to have a personal fortune valued at $1.2bn by Forbes magazine.

During her testimony to the Senate intelligence committee in April, Butina said Nikolaev had given her financial support, the Washington Post reported.

The Russian newspaper Kommersant reported that a representative for Nikolaev confirmed he gave money to Butina’s gun rights group between 2012 and 2014.

Roubles for influence
via the cat-flap that is the NRA

Wasn't the NRA exonerated just this week from declaring their *donership ?

I don't understand how this is breaking news. Or really how much "funding" and for what really happened. Or what she was spying on. Or how that's damning to the NRA. Or why that's bad for Republicans.

Which one of these politicians had a spy working for them

Palosi
Feinstein
Warren

If you cannot answer, then do you really care about spies or are you just full of anti trump hate that you say stuff of low intelligence?

Butoni was leading the charge in Russia to pass their own version of the 2nd Amendment. If anything, the NRA was trying to influence Russian policy.

I gotta say, considering the money flying around, I find it fascinating that the NRA is portrayed as such a monsterous lobbying group when the lobbying efforts of Planned Parenthood spend 9 times more than the NRA does, all going to Democrats. Seems disingenuous to paint the NRA as a threat while embracing that PP money.

That didn't really answer any of my questions. Russian Honeypot sting on what? And what's a cat-flap?

Turns out it was the Democrats who were colluding with the Russians.

Plus the Chineses.

Who would’ve guessed that?

Without donations from the NRA
The GOP would probably have ceased to exist a long time ago...

Yep! I called it! When this story first broke here on ATS (another thread). I said this was where it would go.
TPTB are going to drag the NRA thru the mud with this one. Just like they're trying their best to raise doubt about Pres. Trumps office. They're trying to destroy all things American, thought, morals, history, law (constitution), individualism. I don't care what alphabet agency is bringing, .."investigating" the "case". They stopped working for the U.S. a ways back.
With enough "blank check" and limitless time, any American can come up with dirt on any one of these "investigators".
This ordeal has nothing to do with "justice". More about political chess and mud slinging. One of the goals is to make NRA members question themselves and what they have been supporting. It's classic psyops. Sad thing is we have gov agencies actively participating against Americans and freedom.

LOL!!! So you're saying they're not the party of Big Business now? Their most important funds come from one of America's smaller budgeted "major" activist groups?

And the woman accused of being a secret agent allegedly went to high school with a man suspected of being a former roommate of Fred Ward who was seen costarring in Tremors with Kevin Bacon.

Now, connect Manafort to Kevin Bacon in six steps.

The NRA spends most of it's money politically in advertising for independents. At the tune of 3 million an election cycle. Much MUCH less than the amount of money the Russians gave the Clinton Foundation, for instance. So no, you are very wrong.

Their political contributions to Republicans are very small... Planned Parenthood for instance spent 9 times more to individual Democratic members. That doesn't include the money-laundering scheme that is Union money to the DNC or their other contributors.

I don't expect you to understand this, but the power of the NRA has nothing to do at all with money.

It is all about the 6 million actual members.

By the way, NRA members meeting with a Russian that purchases military arms for Russia is the angle you are going with this?

Do you understand that the NRA is not a gun manufacturer and would have nothing to sell to the Russians?

Global money, does global things. Isn't that what the globalist want? Why are they so against it when it doesn't pay for their agenda? The problem seems to be, there's more foreign (real) Americans than there are, real ones. Believe me, if Butina was working for Moskow it wouldn't be by promoting the freedom of "arms". Especially for her Russian countrymen.
The anti-America left, can't even create or jackboot a good "just cause"/excuse anymore. That's how far off the "reasonable" "educated" wagon they've fallen.

What is the NRA story here?

Did the NRA receive millions of $ that they hid or used? What is the story other than someone trying to "infiltrate" the NRA?

So not only did Russia influence our election by giving CLinton more votes than Trump.

They now want us armed!

The proof we live in an idiocracy is undeniable.
