after obama left office, he had to go and apply to get his driver's license back, he had let his die because well, for eight years, he alway had someone driving him around.
so trump might not even have a valid form of id himself.

At the end of the day, what's the big deal? Just more silly accusations at the president.

Its not a "silly accusation", he did actually say that you need ID to buy groceries, he basically said if you want a pint of milk and a loaf of bread you need ID. Utterly stupid comment that shows how out of touch he is with those he serves.

He actually said this, its not an accusation its just a factual account of what he said.

I know your not defending him. I know we both have similar views on trump. I just don't understand how anyone can be so out of touch with real life.
Hell I saw PINK at a grocery store in Sherman Oaks, with her baby! She was shopping just like everyone else.

It's not a lie. There are many times when you DO need an ID to buy groceries.
And he was making a point which you are obviously totally missing.

The point Trump is missing, is that buying groceries at Costco is not a right. Voting is a RIGHT. There are citizens who do not have photo IDs. What about those citizens’ right to vote?

So by that logic, we shouldn't need background checks or other forms of identification to purchase and own firearms? The 2nd amendment is a right too but that doesn't stop you libs from trying to curtail it ... for the kids.

Trump says the sky is blue... here come the progressives triggered to argue that the sky is not actually blue, but more a shade of turquoise. See trump lied! Muh, the Russians.

Good grief...

I'm sure you call them on it every time if they don't right?

Look..you do not need an ID to buy groceries anywhere. Ever... Because you can always choose to pay cash. The requirement for ID is not because of groceries . It's because of a payment method.

That is not because you are buying groceries.

Do you not understand?

It is because your method of payment.

I think you know this. Must just like to dance

That is absolutly correct and a point I think many are missing.

Do I have to show my ID to buy groceries if I pay cash?

No. The act of buying groceries itself does not require an ID.

Non-Americans can buy groceries without an ID.

So it's a false equivalence.

Who cares, you're the one so focused on a Trump comment not me. I need my id when I buy groceries.

The actual point Trump is making is true, we need an id for almost everything, including purchasing a gun which is a Constitutional right.

Sounds like you’re dancing.

What are you trying to do by quibbling about a small detail in a much greater argument? Avoiding it?

You do not need an ID to buy food. That is verifiably true.

The growing trend is also going towards the customers completing their transactions via POS systems at the register, which does not require the employee to even handle the card, let alone ask for ID.

If Trump wants to talk about voter ID's, that is fine, but to say things like this is just stupid. There are other examples he could have used that apply much better and this is a clear case of a false equivalence.
