Prediction is a word of prescribed speculation.

But I doubt anyone said he would flip for sure so it doesn't matter.

I don't recall anyone in this thread declaring the President guilty of anything.

I don't recall saying anyone did, but I did say that suggesting someone is going to flip or choose to not flip is saying in both cases he has dirt, right?

I'm saying there is no dirt and there is on connection with what these people are going on trial for.

The fact that Manafort is on trial,
would indicate to me that he's not "flipped"
Why ?

From last weekend

Why is Paul Manafort risking it all to face Mueller charges in court?

Paul Manafort is due to stand trial in Virginia from Wednesday on charges of bank fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy. Manafort, 69, faces prison sentences totalling up to 305 years if convicted on all counts.

305 years in the hole !
Huge

On Tuesday morning jury selection is scheduled to get underway. Then he is due to stand trial on separate charges in Washington.

... snip...

Manafort came under scrutiny due to his work as an adviser to pro-Kremlin forces in Ukraine and with Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire aligned with the Kremlin.

Manafort allegedly owed serious debts to Deripaska and others and asked a colleague in one 2016 email how he might use his new position “to get whole”.

To "get Whole"
That's very Mafia speak
Pay back Deripaska via access to Trump ?
Sure sounds like it

But the charges against Manafort do not explicitly relate to Russia or its attack on the US election. Mueller, who is empowered to pursue “any matters” arising from the Russia inquiry, is pursuing Manafort for alleged financial crimes beginning a decade before the 2016 vote.

He is charged with evading US taxes on more than $30m he received to work for Ukraine’s former pro-Kremlin president, Viktor Yanukovych, who in 2014 fled to Russia amid a popular uprising

Skipping tax on 30 big ones
Yet The Cultists are going bonkers !
Spare me the but hillareeeeeeeee crap
Manafoert owes money to the IRS
end of story

Bradley Moss, a Washington-based attorney who specialises in national security issues, expressed dismay that Manafort was allowing his case to go this far.

“They have him nailed dead to rights,” said Moss. “He is going to spend the rest of his life in jail if convicted.”

In addition to the alleged tax evasion, Manafort is accused by Mueller’s team of lying to banks about his debts in order to obtain multi-million-dollar loans. He is preparing for the prosecution to subject him to an embarrassing dissection of his former lifestyle.

One element of the case against Manafort in Virginia is “inextricably intertwined” with his role in the Trump campaign, according to prosecutors. But that too does not relate to Russia.

Manafort is accused of fraudulently obtaining $16m in loans from a bank with help from a senior bank executive who was given a role on the Trump campaign and later wanted a job in the Trump administration.

The bank is not identified, but emails involving “S Calk” – likely Stephen Calk, the founder of Chicago’s Federal Savings Bank – are on the exhibit list.

After Manafort was loaned money by Federal Savings Bank, Calk was made a Trump campaign adviser.

Democratic congressional investigators asked Calk if he entered into a “quid pro quo” with Manafort, following reports that Calk later contacted the Pentagon about a possible high-level role.

Calk has not been charged and denies any wrongdoing.

It's all very Sopranosish
Maybe, ultimately, Manafort is gambling on something less than 305 years in pokey
5, 15, 20 years maybe?
Anything to avoid paying back Deripaska

Either way, seems to me,
Manafort thinks that being in jail,
for however how long,
is safer than being on the steet
constantly looking over his shoulder for russian debt collectors

As if the russian mafia couldn't do for him whilst he's inside

A very strange state of affairs indeed !
Let's let the trial run it's course
Then see what happens

Apologies if this has been mentioned already.

BOMBSHELL: Paul Manafort was CLEARED of these Mueller charges 8 years ago by....ROD ROSENSTEIN!

In a television interview, Judge Anthony Napolitano explained how Paul Manafort was exonerated of the same charges eight years ago by then-prosecutor Rod Rosenstein.

The Judge’s words back up President Trump’s “Witch Hunt” argument as there’s a clear bias to this entire media circus the nation has endured for months.

Is is possible for Manafort's attorney to summon Rod Rosenstein as a witness FOR the defense, since Rosenstein cleared Manafort of these very charges, 8 years ago?

Manafort's trial has completed day #2. Mueller's prosecutors are acting like they've never argued a case before. The judge is continually rebuking them, like they're amateurs.

This is interesting. Prosecution says they will be ready to wrap up their case by next week.
I don't know what kind of defense Manafort plans to weigh. This could be gone goodbye before mid month.

They got dressed down again today after the jury left.
Seems this whole case will hinge on the jury believing gates, who already lied to the prosecutor, and admitted financial crimes and embezzlement today.
Yeah that guy seems credible.
