Sorry for not reply to all comments sooner, been a bit busy today.

I think based on the comments there are a few general points I would make.

Firstly let me reiterate again this is not about bashing anyone for being a Trump supporter this is just about pointing out that he is viewed as being unpopular in genera. Now I know that many of you simply do not care if he is unpopular which is fine.

I will also say that I think its quite interesting that nobody has actually posted anything that suggests Trump is viewed as a popular president other than anecdotal accounts and views.

Well now, his (un)popularity in everyone's individual perspective greatly depends on whom you choose to surround yourself with.

To a Trump fan, he's insanely popular and the people they know would mostly agree.

To an Anti-Trumper, he's the worst thing ever and the people they know would mostly agree.

The only people who can truly gauge it are those who chose to not base friendships or acquaintances on their politics. They would naturally give a broader opinion.

I do not believe polls of any kind anymore, and haven't for a very long time. So I hold no truth to his current "rating" in the press polls.

Having said that, I do believe he is more popular than those polls suggest, but then again, I live in the MidWest. So, he is more poplar here than say, Southern California or New York (except upstate, they're more conservative than NYC, but NYC is half the population of the State, so it's irrelevant)

It's all a matter of perspective.

You fail to mention that he is as popular as obama was at the same point in his presidency and obama had the media in the tank for him so I would say Trump is doing pretty damn good with having the media and the entire congress against him. . As it has been stated before, at best a president will only make 50% of the country happy at any given time. Trump could cure cancer and the media would complain he put oncologists out of work. ….. Actually over 60m voted for him at a time when his popularity according to the polls was lower than it is now. Both of those pieces of information have been provided to you, but you didn't start the thread to have a debate. It was to wrap yourself in a comfort blanket. Weak people need confirmation to underpin their feelings. That's clearly what your thread is all about.

The only way to know how popular he is is the vote.

Did you read the OP.

He lost the popular vote by the biggest margin of any POTUS in history.

So even by your own measure he is a unpopular POTUS.

Cheaters in Cali and NY aside he probably won that too besides winning so many states. Dead people voted and Cali and east coast sanctuary cities let illegals vote.

All of those votes for those precincts should not be counted. Proof of cheating was the Michigan recount for HRC they had to stop when several ballot boxes where found compromised and unfit for counting again.

Oh, come on, you're on ATS for gawd sakes. This is the place where people seek conformation for their feelings all the time, what else do you expect..

I think Trump is being idolized by his followers, not because he's such a good president, but because he is the captain of their tribe, and the tribe feels insulted if you insult their leader. Even if he is an incompetent asshole, you'd rather bite of your tongue than admit that.

But to EVERYBODY - yes, that would include you, dear reader - it is totally clear that Trump is a dumb ass sociopath, and you should get rid of that lying ape.

Hey, but what do I know. Perhaps he indeed is what many Americans would like to be themselves: unkind to women, unkind to non-Americans, unkind to poor Americans, unkind to those without a job, unkind to those without good health and unkind to half of the American population, actually: unkind, period.

And honestly :
1) Who gives a crap about popularity as long as he does a good job and the country thrives---- Which he is doing a great job and the country is thriving

2) are these the same pollsters that had Hillary ahead by double digits pre election and election night and winning by a landslide? So I don't think I will go off of what some pollster is telling me.

NEXT fake crisis from the liberals in 3..2..1

I’m sorry, but your post is just like FAKE news. Because your premise doesn’t include any understanding or incorporation of the TRUTH.

When you write about reality without any understanding of what is truly going on, you are merely passing along ignorance.

Here’s the truth:

It’s been pretty well established there is a “cabal, Or call it a Deep state, or New World Order” that has been quietly changing the world for many decades in preparation for a new form of world government.

Trump is not here to be popular. You’re missing the point.

He’s here to defeat those bastards and restore liberty and the rule of law in the United States.

Popularity? Who gives a crap!

Not becoming a socialist country under a group of psychopaths in a one world government?

Um....priceless.

Jesus, mate.

Wake up.

What are you? Like 15 years old?

I'd just like to point out that the "hidden Trump vote" was a thing even before the election. Since the election, anti-Trump opposition has gotten increasingly unhinged and violent. The hidden Trump vote is likely even bigger now.

Honestly, the DNC has no real candidate offerings at this time, nor can they afford to run against an incumbent President in 2020. Unless Trump totally and majorally self-destructs in the next 2 years...the rural and Midwest voters will carry him with their votes again.

Financially, the DNC cannot compete in 2020. Common sense financially, they will attempt to get as many elected into midterm election 2018 and 2022. Then they will pool their resources into an awesome candidate for the 2024 election.

It is what it is! Tears are not necessary...a winnable and financially stable plan as above is what is needed.

I think the 2016 election proved money isn't as important as we think. Yeah you need some, you can't run for president on peanuts, but you also can't spend your way to the win. They outspent Trump by a factor of 3 or 4, depending on who you ask. They need to find a candidate.

I don't disagree. Trump was able to spend less due to he actually spent years preparing. He backed out in prior earlier run but that was actually strategy. He comes off as a absolute idiot but when one goes back in time, documentaries, interviews, etc. you actually can see he has been planning this over a longtime. He made sure all his ducks were in a row then ran. DNC will have to recognize this strategy.

To be honest, the DNC can only hope that Trump and GOP overplay their hand during the 2nd term! Obama came in off Bush and Trump had an edge over Obama going all out and overplaying with the ACA plan. most Americans are fickle pickers...only when choosing between all new candidates. A President has to really F up to not be re-elected for 2nd term. Most Americans will always rather enjoy an easy pickle over starting with a new cucumber.
