Who the hell are they to tell anyone where to eat?
None of their business.

They are progressives. This is what progressives do.

Does that politician "eat with the rest of us", or go anywhere without a security detail like "the rest of us"?

Anyone wanna start a pool?

You're link goes to a white nationalist blog (so you got that part right, I think) but it has nothing to do with your op story.

Of course, that didn't slow down the first few triggered reactionary comments so I think you're alright.

Jesus, you guys bark at whatever shadow you see these days.

I don't know much, but "The Modesto Bee" doesn't sound very white nationalist.

Me thinks the programming got ahead of the draw call...

Here we will see how unintended consequences work. Many tech giants offer free or reduced lunches at their cafeterias its a perk you get for working with the company. Banning these companies from doing it means they won't open up offices in that area. Which means less tax money in those districts. They are having a huge problem in San Francisco is known for its restaurants but unfortunately, they get very little business during the day causing many to have to close. This isnt a viable solution to solve the problem since it doesn't affect the cafeterias in operation now. Just means they lose new corporations moving there and it still doesn't help restaurants.

It’s the usual left tactics of aiming at the wrong target. Here, the target should be cleaning up the streets so people might “want” to go to restaurants during the day, tech workers or otherwise. I mean who in their right mind wants to tip toe through used drug needle and human waste mine fields just to get a bite to eat.

It’s just like their blaming of guns for the mental health condition of US citizens, thus targeting legal gun owners instead of actually figuring out what’s causing the mental breakdowns. Actually, I think they know what’s causing those breakdowns, they’re just too politically chicken to say it aloud. It doesn’t fit their agenda and would be political suicide.

“This is also about a cultural shift,” Supervisor Ahsha Safai, who proposed the ban, told The San Francisco Chronicle. “We don’t want employees biking or driving into their office, staying there all day long and going home. This is about getting people out of their office, interacting with the community and adding to the vibrancy of the community.”

Yes people.

It's about increasing their residents chances of getting robbed, rape,or shot by unsavory people.

Taken a good look at culture in California?

It wouldn't be because with minimum wage laws, local restaurants are going out of business, so they think they can prop that up by forcing people to go against their natural inclination - save money by eating in and either using the employer cafeteria or bringing food from home?

Seriously, why else do this?

You made me think that this is the first time I have seen Democrats take away someone's free lunch.

This is a shining example of why I cannot stand Authoritarian Progressives.

I hate them as well.

I also hate Authoritarian Conservatives that want to keep people from doing things too.

Just leave us alone already.

The 'Textbook Fascism' sense is centralized state power forcing people to buy corporate -whatever-. SO if government forces you to buy se Subway everyday well there's that.

And there's the 'Stereotypical Fascism', jerks shouting you down and beating you up, disrupting your free expression, forcing you to do things they want / not letting you do things your own way, bigotry BS, etc.

This story here fits both styles perfectly like nothing else I can even think of ever hearing about.

Telling people where to eat sure isn't liberal as the word is defined.

When they're done we will all be eating at Carl’s Jr.

Nowadays it really seems like every company you've heard of is owned by an even bigger company whose name might be less familiar

This is certainly true in the food-service business. Though it’s rarely evident when you walk into your favorite chain restaurant, very few of them are independent.

It’s not easy for an independent company to remain independent, especially if it’s doing well... in many cases, they're open to corporate takeovers by private equity companies.

Is the San Francisco Chronicle a white nationalist publication too?

Definitely!

Okay, fine, same difference though (White Nationalism vs. SJW Globalism whats the difference beyond the facade?).
