How much does all that Gulf / Texas oil actually benefit anybody?

Too bad if Trump does anything about that the CIA will overthrow him like they did Iran in 1953.

You know the US would never meddle in anyone’s election!

Not sure if its relevant but today at the grocery store the butcher came out with a cart full of pork picnic roasts that were marked way down. He said he had too much in the back and he needed to get rid of it.
So I got a small roast to put in the smoker. 3lbs. $3.00.
I should add I live next to Smithfield Virginia and it is a pork producing city. Smithfield Pork is owned by China now but Gwaltney is still locally owned. This could have a big effect on local economy because those producers employ a lot of people.
We'll see what happens to peanut prices later this summer. That's the other big agricultural product here along with a small market for winter wheat.

Imagine if Obama wasted the American tax money like Trump's stupid ideas are doing here, what the Trump idolaters would be squealing about...
I hear em now
I don’t want my money paying for this
Let em make it on their own
Its Obama’s fault, it’s his stupid policies
But when the knave Trump does it, it’s all right
When are you guys going to get some integrity?

Righting the stupid economy mistakes of past admins ain't for sissies. That includes us. Suck it up, buttercup, it pays off in the end.

If that's the case, then why do we still subsidize agriculture? Nothing we purchase is supposed to be as cheap as it is. What happened to that good ol' Republican "capitalism will straighten itself out" boostraps crap people parrot?

You Trump sheep seem to be very comfortable with spending MY money. What about the deficit and debt? That's all I heard for years.

And for what, corporate welfare. Can't give poor kids food and healthcare, but you have no problem making me pay for this and other ridiculous spending, like that BS wall.

Get a go fund me page, and pay for this sh!t yourself.

I'm still waiting for the Obamacare fix. Can't even do that.

What happened to some of you. This is the America you want? After reading posts on this site for a very long time, I simply can't believe it.

S*hit takes time to fix, he only been in office for less then two years, and to revert back to being a self sufficient self sustaining power house we use to be is going to hurt us a little but in the long run will make us much stronger economically. We knew this before Trump got in office, we knew it was going to hurt us but it will get better after awhile of adjusting, We called this out long time ago and knew liberals would be crying, just like they did when Obama was sending butt loads of cash on pallets to Iran, setting them up with nuclear plants and spending a s*hit ton of our tax dollars buying cartels in mexico and ISIS in the middle east weapons and god knows how many millions on him and his husbands vacations every months. Anyway, suck it up butter cup, there will be a stronger economy and many jobs to come in the near future, along with cheaper stuff because its home made, kinda like the milk, it use to be almost $4, now it's a $1.89, i'll take it

China loves our soy beans and in the last 10 years has had a massive increase in imports from a steady 400 mil to 1.5 bil, massive imports...so who is going to fill that gap? Does the Chinese population agree to go without their soy bean or will they push back against their own Government to come to a agreement?

It bit us in the ass, they're not going to fight for American soy. Brazil is having a major windfall in soybean exports to China now.

Well, better to give money to American farmers than on funding foreign wars right????

What makes you think they are going to stop funding foreign wars?

I don't think they will stop. I think they should though.. But they won't.

But hey! At least this 12 big ones is going to someone on our shores to benefit something other than killing brown people.

You disagree?

Let's take a page from the rightwing book here.
Shouldn't you be telling farmers to get a real job and a trade education if they want to make a living instead of depending on the government to spoon-feed them money to live on? I mean, you just going to let your tax money support some failed farm that can't survive under normal domestic conditions somewhere?

If it's offensive to provide at least food assistance to the poor, it should be just as offensive to provide a bailout to farmers who can't hack domestic sales.

Sure although I'm not sure the bailout was needed, well at least before the tariff war. I always run by the motto if it ain't broke don't fix it.

If these guys can’t make it on their own why should the US taxpayer subsidize this plan?
If Trump’s policies can’t make it on their own why should I pay for this?

Yet when the same principle about the government subsidizing health insurance for the poor the same people here who support this squeal and complain
I DONT WANT MY TAX MONEY GOING TO THE POOR PEOPLE--

It’s called a hypocritical double standard

You didn't seem to care when Obama was sending pallets of money to Iran, setting them up with nuclear plants so they can make nukes and spending our tax dollars to give weapons to Mexican cartels and middle eastern ISIS on top of his very expensive lavish vacations him and his husband would take every month spending millions of our tax dollars on that, but when trump does to lend a hand to some farmers until this tariff deal blows over you throw a fit, but your happy to take money from the hard working american for your food and health benefits and education, pfffft. Stay outta my pockets, i'll help the farmers of america that actually work, half my family are farmers and they do work alot more then you would believe.

Washington paid out a quarter of a trillion dollars in federal farm subsidies between 1995 and 2009

Soooo, explain to me again how this farmer bailout is because of tariffs?
