Then do a DNA test. Don't ship the child thousands of miles away from their parent and only do the DNA test when you get sued.

Problem is it’s a known fact some families just send their children by themselves on this dangerous journey, subjecting them without regard to unforgiving terrain and crime. There is a fair amount of human/sex trafficing by those falsely stating the children are related to them. DNA tests take time to process, which the left will still bitch about.

Yep , that Sure is A Load Alright . I Hope She Wore Her Depends while Spewing that Utter Nonsense..........

Fearing that you won't ever see your children again is a "load"? Do you just lack sympathy these days?

I have no sympathy for people coming into my country illegally. If they went through proper channels they wouldn't be separated.

This is naive. Are you shocked to hear that people coming through the proper channels are also being deported?
Are you referring to those who stayed past their visa expiration?

Are you shocked to hear that that is nothing new? I mean seriously, if we just let everyone who claimed asylum come in, what do you think would happen?

We would almost entirely benefit (as 99%+ of those immigrants are a benefit not only to our economy but also to enriching our society as a whole), making it no only more inclusive but also a more varied population which lends itself as a stalwart against extremism and fascist tendencies.

Any argument made against it can be either transferred to some other bogey man down the road (in the future), or is rooted in baseless xenophobia and unscientific and inaccurate understanding of economics and social evolution.

No, specifically to those current green card holders (and other similar types) who are now being deported for completed legal proceedings that occurred and were adjudicated and closed many many years prior.

I am willing to look at them on a case-by-case basis if you want to take the time. Otherwise I’m going to leave it in the hands of those who are there to do that job. Do you have any specific cases you can site?

That still doesn't explain why you would ship the kid to Ohio. Or why you would deport the parent without the child.

Nice ad hominem, but just because some people want a system in place to protect the immigrants too through the use of laws that protect them from being taken advantage of is just straw man.

I'll give you there are xenophobes out there, or people who just want America to be white as milk, but saying everyone who wants the immigration process to have rules is just wrong. Last time I checked, almost all of America is immigrants and can trace back their heritage to just a few generations.

If we let everyone in who was trying right now, you think it would be a smooth transition with no victimization? Do you truly believe we have the infrastructure right now to do so? Do we have adequate housing, jobs, education system to handle the influx?

Last I checked, we have quite a few problems we could fix before just letting someone take the leap with little to no hope.

I know for a fact.

If I was a parent.

I'd never create a situation that would would put my kid in jeopardy.

Ya know GOOD PARENTING instead of intentionally ignoring the effing law.

Those options include an entire effing continent where legal Americans spend billions of dollars vacationing.

The only desperation here is the lengths law breakers go to justify their bigotry against legal LAW ABIDING Americans.

Though ultimately, we should probably focus on making our children bilingual and thoroughly teach Spanish in our schools starting from elementary school.

Or, people who are serious about coming here could learn English.

Also where will we get the money to redo every sign in the country? You do understand the stress of having two languages for no reason right? Can you fathom the economic impact of adopting another language into society to the level you speak of?

Or we can teach them Spanish. The US won't sink into the third level of hell just because we all become bilingual. We all see the signs of the country's Spanish speaking population getting larger and larger. What's wrong with dropping the stubborn and idiotic attitude that we only speak English here and just learn the second language?

Furthermore, people can immigrant here legally and still not speak English. That issue doesn't fix the other.

Isn't that what America is already? Are we not the melting pot?

white 72.4%, black 12.6%, Asian 4.8%, Amerindian and Alaska native 0.9%, native Hawaiian and other Pacific islander 0.2%, other 6.2%, two or more races 2.9% (2010 est.) note: a separate listing for Hispanic is not included because the US Census Bureau considers Hispanic to mean persons of Spanish/Hispanic/Latino origin including those of Mexican, Cuban, Puerto Rican, Dominican Republic, Spanish, and Central or South American origin living in the US who may be of any race or ethnic group (white, black, Asian, etc.); an estimated 16.3% of the total US population is Hispanic as of 2010

CIA Factbook

Note that America is about 56% white, that is a very broad term. You do realize that is a makeup of many different cultures from across the world right? That could be Russian, Polish, German, Swedish, we could go on and on.

So please tell me how having a process that every developed country has is somehow xenophobic? Why, because we try to find a balance to make sure all parties involved are set up for success?

I think what it comes down to is people act like they are altruistic just because they say they are for helping out everyone on the planet. That's great, but just saying it doesn't mean anything. Start a business and find people outside the country to sponsor to come work for you. They'll get a green card and you can help with the logistics of their journey.

But acting like you're above someone just because their opinion is if you open the flood gates, some people might not make it here, and that's not fair. What is wrong with trying to have a system to make sure they have an opportunity? When have I ever said no immigrants should come?

Nope.

We're just a country that has a preference for people that ignore the law that come from South and Central America.

Anyone else that wants to from Europe,Asia is just Snip out of luck.

They don't matter.

Hell, we're one of the few First World countries where our children aren't at least bilingual. And people wonder why children from other countries are smarter than ours.

These people are using kids, whether their offspring or not. to circumvent the law. If you know the US is seperating families, why would you still bring your kids here?

I never implied we would. Listen, I'm all for our countries youth being bilingual, and I'm not going to pick their language. I also don't have a problem with anyone learning Spanish, nor do I have anything against the language.

However, what you're saying is adopt Spanish as a second language. As I said earlier, that is not a small feat, it would require we overhaul all the signage in the country, and on the infrastructure as a whole.

While I'll admit we technically don't have an official language, English is standard here. That makes things easy on transit, commerce, and a host of other aspects of society.

Instead of taking the billions of dollar leap you suggest to teach Spanish to every kid in the country, how about we work on our education system that is 25th in the world. We could start with math, science, history, civics, oh and lets not forget that there are countries that speak English as a second language better than our children. Let's start there, maybe we could create an online learning center for the 10%~ of people who can't speak English rather than teaching the 90%~ to speak Spanish.

Why spanish though?

If you going to teach a second language pick a dialect of chinese.

Something actually useful.

Or they could do something really crazy like over throw their government and fix their own problems. The history books are full of thing like that happening.

But, Hey! "Not my porch" - - why should I care?

And then they took YOUR "porch".

I choose humanity and a global effort to remove the "Mafia" so people can live peacefully.
