Can't get a new IP from DHCP server

Hey everyone,

I've been trying for a week now to get my desktop back online, via the campus network, with no success. It seems I am unable to recieve an IP address from the server that is meant to assign them... my NIC is working fine, the connection is detected by the computer and the network, and there is nothing wrong with my drivers, WinSock or the DHCP client... I'm almost certain it's a problem with the server, which I do not control, but do any of you have any suggestions or experience with similar problems?

At this point I'd like any advice at all... myself and all of the guys over at the IT office are stumped. Thanks for your time
