Why would these individuals require access to the most recent data as "part of their jobs"?

"Need to know" is a requirement.............

not a right or a privilege

a reply to: shawmanfromny>>> Kudos to Trump. These clowns are clearly deep staters and totally ethically compromised. Tring them for treason would be even better.

He should have revoked their security clearance the day he was sworn in. And if they did monetize sensitive security info, they should be prosecuted.

And that goes for all his children and Kushner too, right? Or are we being selective here?

Actually only two of them have already lost their clearance. But your correct this list shows political motivation to punish people who have been critical of him.
There is a question of whether he can actually hatchet chop like this as it's, once again, something no president has ever done before.
Of course once again no one here is questioning what his reason really is.
He's acting like a man who knows the cops are at the door.

Really? I thought he, the President of the United States, was acting more like a President taking care of business and getting rid of the sewer dwelling rats hybernating in his guest room.

They didn't. They are no threat to him. This is purely theater.
How better to convince a crowd prone to believing such things that he has to do this because they are breaking laws just by having their investigations continue. If he's allowed to punish these folks, they must be guilty of what he's saying. Right?
It's an abuse of power and if he actually does it, another nail in the coffin called impeachment on obstruction of justice charges.

The janitoral people that did my FBI building had to have a secret clearance, otherwise they had to be escorted everywhere.

Why is this a good idea? What does it accomplish?
I'm real interested in the answer.

Apparently they do loose it when they're fired.

That's correct. None of these folks are in a need to know position.
I imagine if trump could have their memories wiped he'd do that because that's what he really needs. Lol.

Wow. So the FISA application showing not only that the dossier was identified as paid for opposition research but that it was not even a primary reason for the request holds no water for you? You've swallowed his story completely. They would have been able to get the warrant without the dossier at all. It just corroborated intelligence they already had and Steele was a trusted source for providing such corroboration. It was a cherry on top but fully unnecessary.

No it's not.
But it's a loud noise that distracts and amuses his base.

This move actually proves Comey was telling the truth. He has made having a security clearance conditional on a pledge of personal loyalty. Prospective whistleblowers are being removed.

 Daddy issues I guess.

Oh yes. Why did daddy send me away? Back then military school was a threat to boys who couldn't behave. What a surprise it was recommended in trumps case.

Total bullship.
He's not my president. He's just the moron running things into the ground.
This won't accomplish anything but making him look petty.
Oh my how uncharacteristic of him. Not...

Do you understand how many civilians and companies are entrusted with military secrets that have clearances? The women and men at NASA? Telecommunications and satellite operations and designed? The women and men that manufacture military jets and missiles. It’s low level, but I am guessing you have to pass a background check and have clearance to work a fast food restaurant on most military bases and posts?

Background check maybe, clearance no. Unless they've got a Burger King at Groom Lake.

I used clearance in the context they where granted clearance to have access to a guarded military base or post. Try driving up to a guard house of a military base and request access to the base with no reason to do so?
