A Review of the DOJ/FBI FISA Application Release…

Having read, re-read and re-re-read, the recent FISA application release, here’s my take at both the 30,000 ft and granular level.

First, the elevated review is actually more interesting than the granular, which is remarkably odd considering how far we have traveled with this story.

Why publicly release the FISA application? After all, even with the voluminous redactions, it is very unusual and it would have been exceptionally easy to deny any FOIA request under the auspices of national security. To highlight this question, consider how stunned Fran Townsend was at the release: “Having run The Justice Dept office responsible for #FISA The release of these documents is irresponsible & will irreversibly weaken counterintelligence & Counterterrorism investigations going forward.”

This lays out everything wrong with the FISA bs and why its illegal.

Interesting article with interesting analysis of the timeline of the entire episode.
The timeline seems to be an issue for the people "in charge" of the investigation.
Also the release of this (from the link) is problematic:

If Carter Page was an FBI asset and witness, responsible for the bust of a high level Russian agent in 2013, and remained so throughout the court case UP TO May of 2016, how the f**k it is possible that on October 21st, 2016, Carter Page is put under a FISA Title-1 surveillance warrant as an alleged Russian agent?

It appears to me the whole house of cards is falling.
Spying on ones political opposition is dirty business, and I don't think the public at large will be accepting of that practice.

Well they won't have to be accepting of it because obviously from the fisa warrant that didn't happen.

What about Trey Gowdy? what about Lindsay Graham? They also say the application does not support what trump claims.
This route is a dead end.

EDIT TO CORRECT

Lindsay Graham did not agree. My mistake. He agrees with trump for once lol.

But what ? At the very least pontificate an appropriate anwser. Is it not true that the former CIA Director accussed the President of treason? Do you REALLY believe that Trump committed treason or is it just good political theater to make the accusations with no evidence to score political points ?

Did Adam Schiff not say, on more than one occasion, that "Russia must have something on the President" ? Did he offer any evidence ? No, again it is politically expedient to make the claim to score points.

Does the unredacted portion of the FISA warrant confirm that the Steele dossier was used as a basis to obtain the warrant ? Something initially denied only later another claim made that other evidence was used as well ?

Does the released warrant also confirm that an article written by Michael Isikoff was used as a basis for the warrant ? An article that sourced the Steele dossier for its informaton which is basically using the same source twice.

I have said it before and will say again, if something went down then everyone needs to be punished to include the President if the evidence supports it. But so far the so called evidence is a unverified report written by a former foreign spy who gathered his information from former Russian spies whom were paid for information, any information.

The FBI did not even bother to verify the dossier information before using it to obtain a warrant. Steele admitted he did not verify the "salacious" information and the FBI might have paid for the information.

That is not the way it is suppose to work. Rodger Stone has not been charged as of this date and could be but what will the charge be ? Any conviction will be dubious if they can obtain one which I doubt.

Immunity has already been given to Tony Podesta whom is guilty of what Flynn did and helped Manafort do the things he is accussed of. How is that okie dokie in your world ?

You are a smart person, this thing stinks to high heaven and it is beginning to unravel. Will you put your head in the sand or will you at least admit to yourself that the something there is in reality over there on the other side

You do understand that the jumping off point for this entire event is the fisa warrant against Page?
If that warrant was obtained illegally the entire investigation is gone.

Perhaps you can explain how one is an "asset" in may then an "agent of a foreign power" in october?
Perhaps you can explain how there are no charges against the "agent of a foreign power" that began the investigation?
NONE of the charges issued up to the current date have ANYTHING to do with us citizens colluding with russians to effect the 2016 presidential election, and the fbi and doj have bent over backwards in statements to make sure that fact is known.

I can't help but think a lot of them are just hanging on to save face.

I try to tell them that there's no shame in admitting you made a poor choice for poor reasons. Though im sure some of them are very nice people, the ones left are angry, irrational and delusional. More so than usual. Not just here. They are vile, angry, irrational and delusional all over the interweb.
