Either way, who is going to trust Cohen again?
I doubt he will ever have another client.

The only thing worse than a successful man, is one who bangs hot women. That really brings out the "anger" in those that can't obtain the same level of success, in life or in "love".

Not saying that's ALL this is, but I'm sure a large portion of it can be distilled down to that. Just like a lot of the "feminists" attacking grid girls and beauty contest just so coincidentally happen to be of the below average variety.

Wow. Just wow. Trump is not successful, he is on the fast track to being the most humiliated political figure of all time. There is nothing wrong with paying for sex, but Trump just can't admit that's what he has to do. I will ignore the rest of this archaic sexist post.

That's not love. If it was love he'd be with his wife exclusivly. That's a real man. Not one that has to constantly prove it by screwing around and destroying his family.
He is a three time loser as far as love goes. Sorry dude.

I kinda almost choked laughing at this.
O.M.G.
Do you even recall allllll of the times you lambasted these boards with support of Hillary when her husband was cheating?
You said it was nobody else's business, and you admired Hillary for standing by her man.
I can go and start pulling your quotes if it helps, but I'm sure you must remember.

So now, all of a sudden, infidelity is how you judge someone?
Where was your outrage about Bill Clinton?

Secretly recorded? Sounds like blackmail to me.

I hope he gets disbarred.

No; it's standard operating procedure. Telephone calls are routinely recorded. It is not necessary to inform the other party, believe it or not. As for blackmail, this is what it looks like:

Note the body language.

I wonder how many of the conversations Trump has had with, say, former FBI directors were recorded?

Actually it's a felony in some states.

Are you really ok with the government taking and releasing privileged information NOT related to a crime?

Treason is a crime. That is why the information was taken. It is a coincidence that other crimes are coming to light.

ETA: In which states is it illegal to monitor phone calls?

In my state it certainly is - Pennsylvania. All parties need to give consent before ANY private conversation is recorded, either in person or via phone.
There are 12 states with Two Party Consent.
If someone is calling from one state to another, then the laws of both states apply.
If Trump was calling from Florida, then Cohen is in deep trouble.

www.aapsonline.org...

Two Party Consent States
California
Connecticut
Delaware
Florida
Maryland
Massachusetts
Nevada (see other statute)
New Hampshire
Pennsylvania
Vermont
Washington
Illinois

So Cohen was recording legally in New York. Thank you for the confirmation.

It depends where Trump was.
Was he calling from his home in Florida?

And, it seems that New York attorneys may have other ethical reasons not to record.
Ethics Opinion 328 - New York State Bar Association

Even if the secret electronic recording of a conversation is not illegal it offends the traditional high standards of fairness and candor that should characterize the practice of law and is improper except in special situations such as those referred to below.
...
There is a general aversion to the secret electronic recordation of private conversations. Unrecorded private conversation encourages uninhibited and easy flow of expression and facilitates the exchange of ideas even though in unguarded and imprecise language which might not have been employed if the speaker had had knowledge that a literal transcript was being made. Elemental fairness ordinarily dictates that all participants be aware of the ground rules governing a conversation. They may then conduct themselves accordingly.

A lawyer should be candid and fair. Of equal importance, he should be regarded as such by other lawyers and the public and his conduct should not be susceptible to an interpretation that he is less than candid and fair. EC 9-6 states that 'every lawyer owes a solemn duty to strive to avoid not only professional impropriety but also the appearance of impropriety."

The secret recording of telephone conversations has been considered by ethics committees in a number of jurisdictions and has uniformly been disapproved, with only one exception that has been brought to our attention.
.

It looks like Cohen could face disbarment.

Probably from his home in New York or New Jersey. What difference does it make? He has been caught lying. Yet again.

Sorry what does this recording have to with treason?

It's illegal to record without 2 party permission in many states.

Probably. So you don't Know. Now what crime is this recording related to for it to be released?

Adultery is not a crime. Neither is releasing legally gathered evidence of adultery. This whole thing simply exposes the religious right for the hypocrites they are.

All of this treason talk is so funny.

Trump is the most patriotic president we have ever had. Everything that he has done so far has been for the USA. Compare that to previous presidents, who seem to worry more about other countries than about the US.

Nothing; that's why Mueller doesn't mind if it gets released. It won't affect his case.

It's illegal to record without 2 party permission in many states.

But not Cohen's, as has been proven.

Trump is the most patriotic president we have ever had.

That's why he makes all his Trump branded products in China and Mexico.
