The problem with the world right now is there isn't enough Jimi Hendrix , rather than listen to translations of each other jabbering in their earpieces world leaders should be fed this to help them make sense of the world and the wider reality of existence.

Jimi has spoken , so it is.

Hey now! that's a cover.
Give credit where credits due.

All hail Bob Dylan.

Indeed but sometimes covers exceed the original , as in this case.

Hail Bob sure , but Jimi did it better.

I was at the Irish Village in Dubai almost 10 years ago(they import Irish people to work there) and they had a dude on the corner playing an Irish Folk version cover of Along the Watchtower.

Obviously it wasn't as good as Jimi, but it was pretty awesome. Great song.

Truth! Sometimes it took a better voice to bring his songs to life.

All Along the Watchtower is my favourite not-sung-by-Dylan Bob Dylan track and my favourite Hendrix cover track. It's like lightning striking lightning - awesome power.

Dylan's voice is one of the best to sing along to for laughs. Try singing 'Just Like a Woman' like Dylan without moving your tongue.

You know, I totally agree! And to help world leaders get a better perspective on how their behavior makes us underlings feel, I'd suggest........................

I think my favourite version has to be the live one from the isl of Wight show. I can't find a YouTube link, but that version had so much emotion in it. The end just really gives me a bleak apocalyptic feeling.

I also like original. Bob Dylan's version has a really raw grating quality to it that appeals to me for some reason.

Hendrix was way ahead of his time as a musician. I loved his version of the star spangled banner! My Husband used to play Hendrix tunes on his guitar years ago.

Heard this for the first time today on satelite radio, never even heard of Steve Winwood before he was an organist for experience can sing very well too.

Who else can cover Dylan and make the cover better than the original?
