Interesting idea, but it'll never happen.

Many US jurisdictions are looking to make it legal for non-citizens to vote. Many States have knuckled under to allowing convicted felons to vote. The truth of the matter is that the value of a "vote" has fallen to such an extent that voting at this point, is practically useless which probably explains the shabby turnout.

Going forward, I'd guess we'll start to see fraud at the elections increase by orders of magnitude.

Didn't they already say that voter ID is racist, because reasons, or something like that. I think they tried to say that even at a cost of $0, it was too expensive for "the underprivileged" to be able to get.

Ha...yet we have them testing basic income handouts of $500-$1000 per month....

Isn't the president saying the Russian didn't interfere? So it's not meaningful.

, make it two

It is to the point where casting a vote is itself an act of violence. We legitimize (ie: give consent) to such a despicable system merely by casting a vote.

Sadly, the alternative is allowing others to decide for us (which is not acceptable)

I find it rather disturbing that felons are granted permission to vote while still being denied their firearm rights. Especially since voting is far more dangerous than any weapon possibly could be.

Not advocating for felon possessing a firearm, but it'd help if they at least tried to be consistent

Heh, and they ignore the fact that this "basic income" is *not* the government's money. It is directly financed by tax payers. Basic income is essentially a scheme to involuntarily redistribute wealth to others. The problem is that they aren't providing any goods or services in return nor is individual consent given, which means government would be robbing us to pay them (ie: forced involuntary payments under threat of force)

Wouldn't that only be true if they don't vote for your guy?

I'm not even going to bother to read the rest of this thread for the simple reason your suggestion is so obviously an easy solution.

Sure you'll get the usual suspects whinging and moaning about it being a secret vote etc but bollocks to that, the integrity of the vote for ANY nations leader or Head of State must be free from any outside interference and manipulation.

It's such a simple solution that there's no chance it'll be implemented.

That would be to easy.

1. It would fix the problem.
2. Libs would lose a big chunk of their voter base.
3. There has to be a problem. Without a problem the government would be relegated to actually doing what it was limited to do. Which ain't really all that much.

IMO, in order to minimise any illegal or unwarranted interference in any future US elections by US citizens AND non-US citizens

I know you're trolling Sublime but you are aware that Voter ID is already a requirement in the majority of States?

Source

In particular, Florida, Indiana, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire and Michigan... all fairly competitive states, require photo ID only and have the strictest laws in the country? They've had these laws since well before the 2016 elections. Further to this, the argument of Russian interference has little to do with voter fraud and more to do with influence and interference with the process. So your argument might as well be a straw man.

I get it, you may have a limited ability to comprehend this but I'll leave you to digest the above.

then it shouldn't be a big issue to get the rest of them to follow suit. Thanks for helping the cause!

That's one of the most interesting responses I've gotten to a post in a long time.

Yea, I"ve come to loath voting and avoid it whenever possible. And yea, its true that not voting is allowing others decide for us but truthfully, if you look at the system as a whole, that's going to happen to an extent regardless. For example "we" the little people, had no decision about who was going to be in the running in the Primaries.

We allow others to decide for us to the extent we accept and acknowledge their authority over us. If we steadfastly express our nullification of the results the system produces, it will lose its grip on us. We really just need to go our own ways; I never needed a President; I don't need a Congress Critter. In reality, neither do you! They are useless appendages of a broken "political" system. And obviously I'm not the only one thinking along these lines. Look for example at the Sanctuary Cities and Sanctuary States. That tells us that the Feds are slowly loosing their grip on this thing.

LOL - no more soup for you.

IMO, in order to minimise any illegal or unwarranted interference in any future US elections by US citizens AND non-US citizens, or attempts to rig elections because honest competition would see you fail dismally, the US should learn from past mistakes and enact legislation enforcing mandatory voter ID, electronically recorded so only one vote can be made and recorded at the voting station of the voters choice.

This will stop Vlad from destroying US sovereignty. It will also stop non-US citizens from voting in US elections.

So - that's proof that mandatory voter ID could very well kill 2 birds with one stone.

Thank-you, and remember folks - #DemandVoterID.

That's fine with me as long as every state in the country issues free non-driver ID cards for voting purposes. Otherwise, it would be an unconstitutional poll tax.

We do have every reason to believe they didn't change any votes or cast votes as dead people. Whereas the DNC cheated Bernie and then tried to cheat the rest of America. We caught them red handed this time. The RINO"s are squirming too as they won't get a break from the D's as they crash down, they will take the RINO's with them. Stupid RINO's, they shouldve joined the D's after their last election, they could Impeach DJT then.....

I see 2 things that absolutely need to be verified for this voter ID. I think we not only need to verify legal citizenship, and we also need to confirm vital statistics. Show us a pulse before that voter ID card is issued.

A finger print or DNA may be needed, these creeps will stop at nothing to destroy the rights of humans to be free.

I talked with an American citizen who came her as a Chinese scholar in Biology, in a meeting I had with here the other day on a matter of my hobby of raising chicken for eggs and her desire to buy them from me. She was scared about DJT but not so much like the D's just his mouth scared her but I think we figured it out wasn't DJT to worry about. I asked her if she proffered that system she came from to get here, as the D's were pushing for it in America. Her response was " I choose Freedom".

I think I have confirmation bias.....

If every state in the nation (or the federal govt) starts issuing FREE voter identification cards, I am all for it.

Russian hackers didn't affect the election through voter fraud. They did it by posting fake stories on facebook and in internet forums to mislead voters in key swing states. Voter ID laws won't fix this issue. Educating the voting public might help avert some of this issue.

Or something like that.

Something as so common sense as requiring ID to do something as important as voting is, apparently, just so very evil. Yet I'm required to jump through several hoops in order to purchase a shotgun/pistol/rifle...yet I don't have to show ID to vote.
