You don't believe people can misspeak? Good god, man. I would give anything to see you on stage.

You're right. I admit it. Trump misspoke. For 48 whole minutes.

So, for just a couple of minutes, let's drop the Left v. Right BS. We've all seen the footage of Trump and Putin in Helsinki. We all heard what was said, the body language, and a fair understanding of the message being sent. And now, a day later, Trump is saying that he simply misspoke and used the word 'would' when he meant to say 'wouldn't'. I have to ask, is there anyone here that has listened to Trump's retraction and honestly believes it's legit?

In that same vein, who cares?

What has changed?

Is our country less safe?

A politician said something.

That's it.

He questioned the intelligence services.

OMG

Don't we do that daily?

Don't we scoff when "intelligence" says Iraq has WMD's?

This is just an opportunity to attack Trump.

That's all this is.

Unless you can identify the global or national ramifications from what he said, the past 24 hours has been hyperbole on steroids.

Exactly. I see all of this hyperventaling as a complete joke. People are walking away from the ideology and the party for that reason among many. Being manipulated and lied to on a regular basis.

I have said this many times in the past year. My wife is a life long lefty, and what I could not do in more than 30 years, the left accomplished in a few short months.

Trump was afraid of Putin.

Interestingly, Trump does often turn on his past friends and go hard after them. He did such with Bannon.

Putin is smart not to reveal what he really thinks of Trump

That’s how I felt about all the uproar on Hillary quotes. She wasn’t my choice, but come on.

Everyone on the right threw a fit when she said “we came, we saw, he died”. Really? That’s the worst thing ever? Big whoop.

“At this point, what difference does it make?” — I thought some people were going to have a stroke over that one.

And don’t even get started on the deplorables statement. I still hear people claim she said everyone who voted for Trump is a deplorable. Talk about fake news!

Difference being, who died and/or what private citizens had their character directly assailed by what Donald Trump said in that summit?

Maybe, I'm context, she was referencing an overthrow of a dictator, which caused a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions and then the death of an American diplomat and special forces due to lack of security against minced words and a concocted Russia collusion election hacking dog ate my homework story.

He screwed up and said the wrong thing, he is seventy years old, it is going to happen occasionally, especially since he talks way too much.

No big deal, at least he admitted he made a mistake after looking at the transcript.

I can see the media mentioning this, but this got blown way out of proportion.

Hillary just tells people what they want to hear, I do not know how she would handle being president. She would probably just be conning everyone into believing she was doing good for the country as we were collapsing. Trump is very poor at Ad Hominum techniques, I do not know how he became president. A president is supposed to be able to lie and everyone will believe it.

I'm sure that process involved a can of beans, dropped pants, and a Bic lighter and the ensuing fire burned half the livingroom rug as well as the tail off the household cat.
