November will be the indication of what direction the dembs need to move.

Yep, no need for any actual principles or ideas - just need to check which way the wind is blowing

Yep, it's called politics. When big money is involved principles fall to the wayside. And Politics is all about money ultimately; especially with the corrupt corporate control of both parties.

I'm astonished that anyone is still so naive to believe otherwise.

That's what the Dems as well as most every other politician do.

I have worked in the media monitoring/analyst for the GOP director of communications as well as a media consultant for Gary Johnson.
I'm a Libertarian voter, if that's what you mean. And I disagree with them on many of their political agendas but they throw the best damn parties, pay the staff extremely well and actually do have the American working mans intrest in mind.

The Democrats are doing a fine job, they need no help from us. Keep caring more about everything than the average American or Ameica, it's a solidly winning strategy.

I think they aren't Left enough. I would encourage them to triple down on that.

True, but they're running against someone who's not a politician and most definitely doesn't do it. Good luck winning with the same ol' same ol'.

They should stop focusing on loser wedge issues and fringe topics, and go back to Bill Clinton's winning politics: it is the economy, "stupid!"

Their current obsession with Russia and their hatred of Trump will not get them anywhere. They can't expect to make major issues out of non-issues/wedge issues and win elections

Their failure to focus on the middle class/economic anxiety is going to be their undoing, yet again. They seem to forget which demographic actually shows up to vote reliably (ie: the middle class, silent majority)

Their current obsession with Russia? Didn't we all just watch Trump sucking off Putin in Russia? Who's obsessed? hahaha.... you nut jobs are so delusional.... and your narrative needs some tweaking. Seems to me the GOP obsession with emails is making you all a tad bit nearsighted...

If democrats want any chance of winning anytime soon, they'll have to scrap their platform, or what's there for it. Trump reversed everything the democrats did, after he beat "the most qualified candidate in American history" who ran on a platform of four more years. The economy is booming, blacks are at historic lows for unemployment, the citizens of this country are traveling more during the holidays than any time during the obama era and most of the 21st century, people are just happy again.

The only message I've heard from the left, besides "Resist Resist Resist" is to abolish ICE and open our borders. I mean, honestly, what patriotic person, left OR right, would go for something that radical? Plus many democrats have began identifying as progressives. This is pushing the moderate dems to the right.

At this point, I don't think there's anything they can do to regain self worth. Their only shot to win in the future, at this point, is to run with Trump's platform and we know they'll deny everything he does because of their hatefulness and anger. So enjoy the next election or two

I think you're dead wrong about pushing moderates to the right... I'm a middle aged, white male, independent moderate and I can't wait until November to pull that lever for anyone running against a GOP incumbent. Most of the people I know feel the same. The only people I've heard any different from are here in the echo chamber.

I'm tired of the Trump # show...

They need to tone down the violent rhetoric and stop openly embracing the radical far-left. Every day they continue on this path, the more support they will bleed from their party.

Also, they actually need a platform to run on besides just anti-Trump hysteria. They have no plan for the economy, no plan for unemployment, even the stuff they preach about like free college and healthcare... no plan whatsoever.

Man, that is so exactly 110% the problem! Especially about embracing the far left radicals and anti-Trump hysteria.

They need to convince Hawaiian representative Tulsi Gabbard to be the new face of the Democrat party. Perhaps they are saving that card for later??

Tulsi has enjoyed an impressive career thus far.

Why DNC Chair Tom Perez has chosen Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez as the "future" of the Democratic party is curious.

That's what I was referring to. They haven't had a message in years so a newcomer enters the scene by winning with 8% of the vote of her district suddenly the radical left feels like they have the message they've been looking for.

Their grand party leader BARACK OBAMA is telling Democrats today that UNIVERSAL BASIC INCOME is what the party should focus on. It's a winning strategy!

Good luck. I've yet to meet anyone like you. I didn't meet any in 2016 and I haven't met any yet.

But since I've got you here... Would you vote for the candidate that promotes open borders and abolishing ICE? I would think that being an Independent, you wouldn't go for those radical progressive ideals. Are you sure you're an Indie moderate?

Also, there were a LOT of democrats that voted Republican in the 2016 election and a lot more that say they're tired of the progressive policies democrats are starting to pick up. There's a reason #WalkAway was started.

I don't know of any Texas candidate that has advocated abolishing ICE. Abolishing ICE isn't such a bad idea though. It wouldn't effect border security because CBP handles immigration at the borders. I don't know of any candidate that supports an open border policy.

I would actually support almost any GOP candidate that is critical of Trump except Ted Cruz.... Beto O'Rourke has my vote come November.
