I don't think I've seen this argument before, bravo!

It's usually -- everyone does it so it's ok for ME to do it! Or for US to do it!

But this one is -- everyone does it, so it's ok if it's done TO US!

In what universe should we be ok with this?

Your bias is showing.

I never said that it was Okay.

But I will acknowledge that it does happen, we do it, every country does it.

But it's simple, as you say, everyone does it.

We just know about it now because Trump?

Well, ok. I'm glad we know about it now. We should do something. Trump should do something. Not meet with the guy on equal terms.

I think one of the points of the OP is that if we snubbed everyone who sought to influence our elections or were snubbed by those whose elections we sought to influence in our favor, no one would talk to anyone anywhere in the globe.

Is that what you on the left call "smart diplomacy"?

What bias would that be? That I'm an American? Damn right.

Can we all say we're acting like Americans today, or are other biases showing?

I mean if you're cheating someone you should probably expect them to cheat you back. Lesson learned, let's be adults and discuss ways to avoid these pesky situations.

Sorry bloke but I'm gonna go all Phage on your a$$,

We ignore the facts

I'm hoping that is a royal we and not an actual collective we.

Show me where you made a thread about it in the past, or even a post you made voicing your concern.

I don't have to, but feel free to have a browse through my posts you'll find a few comments in there.

Just so we are clear, this is a conspiracy site and the reason I am here is because I don't believe anything, particularly anything related to politics or the media, except if it's bad then it's probably true. Common sense should tell you as a conspiracy theorist that the premise of the thread is naive, and if you don't think so well.....????

Really? No.

When we know, unequivocally that a country influenced our elections, we shouldn't snub them. We should outright denounce them.

If that's everyone, so be it. But this is a joke.

How do you feel about the US interfering with other nations elections?

Should they go to war with us?

Probably in a universe where a Trump victory caused anyone to give a crap. Why allow it to go on until someone who wasn't supposed to win did. Should this not have been dealt with before? Any idea why it wasn't?

Is it okay?

No. It is sneaky and underhanded and it is how countries have done it for millennia.

I don't think there's too many people out there not aware that we rig/influence foreign elections.

It's still despicable and the opposite of democracy, and we should be both ashamed and humiliated as citizens that it happens from our government, and shun the f# out of the politicians and officials who perpetrate it.

Land of the free my fat effing ass. More like "Land of the Do As I Say Regime"

I still want to know how Russia interfered with the election .
Someone explain.
Did they take out Trump or Clinton ?
Did they physically change the vote count ?
Did they vote ?
Did they stand outside of voting locations holding batons ?
Did the Russians somehow pull off a Dr. Frankenstein and bring a bunch of departed souls back long enough to vote ?
Did the Russians provide access for illegal aliens to register to vote ?

Ahh ok that game. By that same logic, since some of our leaders decided to spread depleted uranium across the Middle East, if any country decided to do that to some of our States, we should be alright with it? Why not, we did it before?

Do you see how deep this delusion goes? That no matter what happens a rationalization must be created? A reason must be thought of?

No I am not ok with anyone engaging in it, us or anyone else, but I am not going to ignore it just because it may incriminate my very fave politician. Acting this way against our country is not ok, but I am not asking for war, I am asking for our president to act like a man and stand up to this.

I agree. I'm dumbfounded by this bizarre justification for Russian meddling in the US election.

Basically "we did it to them, so it's okay that they did it to us."

Please.

The hyperventilating and pearl-clutching going on over this is ridiculous.

Russia does this to us, we do it to Russia.

They whack our pee-pee when we get caught, we whack theirs when they get caught.

I haven't seen this many people actually sh#tting themselves since I put ex-lax in a pitcher of hot chocolate in college.

What damage was done?

They didn't influence the election.

That's the thing.

They (Russia) didn't do anything towards the election.

How about enough's enough and it's high time we adhere to our own standards of integrity instead of kicking the can down the road because standing up and denouncing the unethical is too skeery?

But don't you have any pride in your own nation? It's your job to protect America, not those other countries. Well, at least people are admitting it happened now, unlike Trump.

Is this the first time Russia has done this? The Soviets (which included Russia) have certainly meddled in our elections. Or is it that some people are making a big stink about it this time in order to attempt to associate it with Trump in their hate for him?

I believe it’s pretty certain that Russia had meddled in our 2016 presidential election.....and guess what happened a long time ago, right after this Russian meddling thing made the headlines? We sanctioned Russia.

Headlines are reading that “Trump denies Russian meddling” Time reported this then produced a video clip of the recent summit as proof. I watched the video and Trump did NOT deny that Russia meddled in our election. However he did say that there was no collusion between him and Putin which as we all know he has stated many times before.
