No, it's not a lame excuse. You are unable to decipher the drop and instead of putting aside your ego and admitting you have no clue what it means you instead call it nonsensical. Claiming "it isn't just me" is an attempt to validate your claim by adding numbers to an opinion as if it will somehow add weight to your opinion. It doesn't. What it shows is you yourself don't believe in the strength of your argument so you feel the need to reinforce it.
