As most of the "news" is like a talk-show about politics, real problems are happening in the world and are being ignored. In this case we have the systematic and increasing slaughter of Christians and nobody cares or will do anything to stop it.

In what the Christian Association of Nigeria is calling a "pure genocide," 238 more Christians were killed and churches desecrated by Muslims last week in the west African nation. This brings the death toll of Christians to more than 6,000 since the start of 2018.

According to a joint statement by the Christian Association, an umbrella group of various Christian denominations, "There is no doubt that the sole purpose of these attacks is aimed at ethnic cleansing, land grabbing and forceful ejection of the Christian natives from their ancestral land and heritage."

The statement condemned the recent attacks, "where over 200 persons were brutally killed and our churches destroyed without any intervention from security agencies in spite of several distress calls made to them."

The statement adds that the majority of those 6,000 Christians massacred this year were "mostly children, women and the aged... What is happening in ... Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately."

The details of the murder of these thousands, though seldom reported, are often grisly; many were either hacked to death or beheaded with machetes; others were burned alive (including inside locked churches or homes); and women are often sexually assaulted or raped before being slaughtered.

Nigeria’s Christians Cry Out ‘Enough Bloodshed’ as Muslim Fulani Violence Continues

The violence has Christian churches and organizations crying out in outrage over the continued slaughter of Christians. Since 2001, an estimated 60,000-plus Christians have been killed in Fulani violence in northern Nigeria

Christian’s? Nobody cares. Now if some poor Muslim was injured throwing homosexuals off a rooftop, man that would make CNN lead story. The silent war on Christian’s continues daily, right up there with the white genocide in South Africa, just not news worthy.

This is a problem that has been happening for a long time. I guess the reason we never hear about it is because the people that run the media and wire services are mostly non-Christian or even anti-Christian.

As much as I don't like the way the Obama govt handled events in Syria, John Kerry did speak out about the Christian genocide. So that's one good thing even if he didn't manage to do much of anything about it.

I remember another thread about this near the beginning of the year.. Awful and terrifying. Shame on me for assuming it was under control by now. What organizations are trying to help? Anyone?? What is truly terrifying is that their pleas for help weren't answered.. I hope there is some way to spare the remaining lives.

You would think that the Pope would be in a position to raise the issue ... through every pulpit in every land ... but nooo.

Too busy ducking pedo claims.

The world is not what it seems to be.

So, when are the marches and protests demanding these people be given refugee status, and brought here?

Anyone on the Left? Anyone?

It's known that radical Islam in Northern Nigeria is a serious problem. This translates to the persecution of any difference, including Christians. Islamic groups like Boko Haram and others, are just nasty pieces of work and are bent on creating an Islamic state separate from Nigeria. Clearly, the way to create an Islamic State (tried and tested through the ages) is to exterminate anyone who would object, including those pesky Christians AND other minorities, religions and thought.

Just like all these ignorant Islamists, they relish in the chance to abuse women and girls, including using girls as suicide bombers. Indeed, the high profile abduction of girls has been well reported globally.

Sadly, the Nigerian military is corrupt and often part of the problem, so these Islamists seem to have free rein.

I have seen many comments here and elsewhere that Christians are not experiencing a genocide. "Nobody is out to do in the Christians" (paraphrase) is a common response I often see.

History and current events tells a different story, although such a genocide is not currently happening in western nations that I'm aware of, it does happen in many parts of the world where Islam is a majority. Heck, during the early days, Rome was doing it from the get go and the Roman empire was the basis of today's western world.

At any rate, Christians are looked down upon much more in western society today than they were just 70 years ago, esp. in the U.S.

Actually, the Pope is too busy pushing interfaith. If he started pointing this out, it would be uncomfortable for that interfaith movement.

They can't do that.

Christians are dominant culture group and need to be cut down to size. Those poor Muslims over there are probably just correcting historic injustices, and soon we'll get to do that over here too! /leftist

Anyone on the Right? Anyone?
But such religious conflicts is plaguing much of northern Nigeria, the most violent is BokoHaram who murders both Christians and Muslims who do not share their creed.
Meanwhile in Central African Republic.
Christians are doing their thing of our father can whoop your father who art in heaven.

Is it really only Christians though? No other groups? Atheists, Homosexuals? Muslims of the wrong branch? Just want clarification, cause well, much like the Jews with the holocaust, Christian's tend to try and make things all about them.

It's not Christian genocide though. It's non specific branch of muslim genocide. It's everyone that doesn't fit a very specific mold. Perhaps if the Christians pulled their heads out of their asses and started calling a spade a spade instead of trying to convince everyone it was an apple we could get somewhere.

They spend so much time trying to convince the world that they are uniquely persecuted and completely ignore everyone else persecuted along side them and then wonder why people get irritated by them.

Nothing will be solved by a christian muslim war. Its just trading one self righteous group for another. Both blind to anyone outside their faith or what their faith accepts.
