Been known for some time now, we keep forgetting the land mass is called Eurasia aka Europe + Asia, so it shouldn't be especially shocking to find one group of ppl travelling far from their supposed home base, it is shocking only in the sense that "China" is now full of Chinese, but such long trek if you really think about it started over 100kyrs ago in east Africa , allowing for some changes in physical characteristics and genetics, the Ugyers in western China may or may not be related to them but, the push east was a continuum.

Conversely folks of typical East Asian looks moved into Europe perhaps before the time of the Huns and Mongols.

The Finnish ppl maybe seen in this light ,being a northern European ppl with East Asian connection.

The only basic truth in it is that white folks dispersed themselves from one part of Eurasia to the next where they bumped into East Asians and Central Asians.

Again such migrations were common long before the gene for white skinned folks appeared.

I think they were Siberian, so maybe yes, but I can't reply properly unless I research a bit more on the Lykov people.

DNA showed they were mixed with maternal genes from Western Europe, South Siberia and also Mongolia.

The most common haplogroup was from South Siberia, C. They also had one Indian, M5.

Haplogroup H is very common all over West Europe, including Spain, France, UK and Northern countries.

This is a politically disputed region in China and DNA actually shows the population from the Russian steppe contributed more to their genes. Current inhabitants claim to be culturally different from the rest of China, and now they can also say they are genetically different.

The high cheekbones indicated intermarriage with Asians. Maybe this was a trading colony which is why they were so wealthy for their times. Mummification is only done by advanced cultures with a financially stable base.

Not even true, but that's beside the point since the article itself states these bodies were naturally mummified.
