I was one of them. I'm also of the opinion they leaned on him hard to make sure that scenario didn't happen.

This is good. I think both sides should do this, at the same time.

At this moment, acting like someone's # doesn't stink (among the reps) isn't going to help. When one side reaches out and extends a hand, the other side should do the same. If Republicans don't do the same, when can we expect a democrat to act this way again, in this political climate?

Good first step, hope it goes somewhere.

Ok, but in what way exactly should they do this?

Oh I'm sure they did. The idea was that he would take too many votes away from Clinton and Trump would win. In hindsight, since Trump won anyway, it would've been better if he had at least started us on the path toward a viable 3rd party.

As you said, missed opportunity.

Star/Flag for pointing out a prime example of a growing movement by level-thinking Democrats.

I can't stand Rauner, but I'll be damned if I vote for JB. As a business owner, I'm already taxed damn near to the breaking point. JB says he'll make weed legal and that will probably get him elected. Sad times here in Hellinois!

Huzzah my brother in our suffrage of this crummy state! More of the same crap piled higher is all we are going to get after this next Governors race. I'm trying to flee because I see it only getting much worse before it ever gets better but while I'm here I vote the best I can with the political detritus made available to choose from. I'm just outside Chicago too.

Since you've brought up #Walkaway:

#WALKAWAY FOUNDER SAYS HE WAS ‘REFUSED SERVICE’ AT CAMERA STORE AFTER EMPLOYEE RECOGNIZED HIM

Brandon Straka, the gay former liberal who has gained attention of late as the man behind the recent movement to #WalkAway from liberalism and the Democratic Party, claimed on Thursday that he was denied service by a camera store employee who recognized him “from TV.”

“I’m shaking right now,” Straka tweeted on Thursday. “I just went into a camera store to buy a camera and a light and mic, etc. and they recognized me from tv. I was refused service because they said it was for ‘alt right’ purposes. That literally just happened.”

dailycaller.com...

Apparently, it's now considered "Alt-Right" when a young, gay, liberal man want's to leave the Democrat Party.

It's the new normal to deny services for anyone who isn't an avowed leftist.

Really this is a disturbing trend.

On the plus side we have to be thankful of their tolerance because they didn't beat him to death.

So I say, "Thank you camera shop people for not killing those of us who don't think like you do!"

The shop should also be commended for not selling any of those abominable 'Alt-Right' cameras.

I think that's the boat most people are in. Is why I'm trying to work out a solution to precisely that problem.

Hold their members accountable when they lie or repeat lies purported by those above them, those that fan the flames and so on. The same thing or similar to what Hikind is trying to do.

They're smart people, they can figure it out, but they have to make an attempt. One sided isn't going to go very far, or for very long.

I have a suggestion for you. And I'm serious. Tune into MSNBC AM Joy or some similar program and tell me what you see.

I did this morning and now need a healthy dose of anti-depressants.

What did I see? I saw a painful truth. But I'm not going to spoil it for you. We won't know how the mid-terms are going to turn out until they are over. But something like 32 Republican incumbents have dropped out already.
www.theatlantic.com...

A hint about what you'll gleen from MSNBC? Straight up Identity Politics! That's the way the Dems will play this.

And that's not a game the Republicans can win.

You can't get to that point until something is done about the media. The media is solely responsible for trumping up the whole 'personality politics' thing, and they do it for their own selfish greed. It sells advertising. And the media only has ONE master, advertising revenue. And I'm not talking about political ads here.

but they don't. all the major players but Fox are shilling the same leftist agitprop. their ratings are dropping but they don't care about the $, they're all about promoting ideology.
huge potential market for a center/right media outlet, but none of them are interested, leaving Fox with great number$.

I only wish some of those corporate masterminds would pull the plug on some of these leftist idiots...but a lot of the upper management are themselves leftist idiots.

The Republicans won't win because they are complacent in the globalist social conditioning. 32 incumbents is a GOOD thing! Problem lies with those who will be running to replace them.

Will we be vigilant enough to follow the money backing them and vote in more RINO's? Honestly though, no matter how you look at it, I would rather vote for a limp dink RINO, rather than a PC SJW Democratic Socialist.

In other words no matter who wins the mid terms, the division will continue and our Republic will further circle the drain.

Term limits and Citizens United have to be dealt with!

“You forgot to tell us how the U.S. is beginning to emerge in energy dominance. The Department of Interior, which has led the way in cutting regulations, opened plans to lease 77 million acres in the Gulf of Mexico for oil and gas drilling, decreasing our reliance on foreign oil. That’s very good news, Senator.

“You forgot to tell us about the most remarkable relationship between the United States and our ally Israel ever. Or about moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem, which you yourself applauded.

“You forgot to tell us about the successful dismantling of the Iran Deal—a deal which you yourself opposed and knew threatened the rest of the world by making it easier for Iran, the leading supporter of world terrorism, to develop nuclear weapons.

“You forgot to tell us that the Trump administration is against the harmful reverse-discrimination criteria in universities that would so badly hurt the children from hard-working Asian families. So much for the big tent, Senator.

“You forgot to tell us about a potential peace with a denuclearized North Korea.

“You forgot to tell us about tax cuts. I’m part of the middle class and now I’m getting a little extra in my paycheck. I’m happy about that and so are tens of millions of Americans, Senator.

Tearing up the Iran deal?
Supporting environmental exploitation?
Praising a move to raise tension in the middle east?
A potential peace deal that is crumbling daily?
Destroying affirmative action?

Dude is a GOP member through and through who ran on as a DEM to win in Brooklyn. He is also NOT running for re-election so now he can let his true feeling out.

I am sorry you share your world views with this guy. Terrible way to live thinking those moves are somehow a good thing for the US contrary to publicly available information.

With which guy ?
Whose publicly available opinion ? Aint mine
I frequently go against public opinion.
Why ? I am a US citizen that thinks for themselves
Not one that parrots crap that their imperious leaders chant as mantras.
I have a brain , and use it.
I became self-aware after I split from the ProgLibs years ago.
You should try it some time

Do you not know what thread you are in? Its a thread about a "DEM" switching to the GOP. I listed a bunch of his "problems" with the DNC that just happen to be GOP talking points. You said you agreed with those points.

I know its hard to understand and keep track of all the posts you make deflecting blame from the GOP faults but come on at least try harder. Also remember just because you are going against public opinion it doesnt mean you are correct. I would think someone who "has a brain and uses it" and "thinks for themselves" would understand that.

I fell for the trap of major parties are evil and the same in the past. I voted third party and all that jazz. But careful consideration of the platforms made me realize the third parties in the US are trash and the DNC is definitively NOT the other side of the same coin as the GOP despite cries from many on the right that they are. The GOP does have the best propaganda arm in US politics for damn sure.
