I agree with that.

Keeps the imported labor from driving down wages and disallows employers from passing over citizens to save a buck.

We have an accord.

Nah.
I think tariffs on foreign workers would go further in helping American workers. You know, helping to make sure that qualified workers were appropriately compensated.

i swear somewhere I've seen you against tariffs, not sure where though...

Did every animal leave a fossil?

So far all the ones we have discovered did.

Yeah. If we hadn't discovered a fossil we wouldn't know it existed. That makes sense.

You know that it's fairly common for new fossils and new living things to be found. Who knows, maybe a unicorn will turn up. Maybe Sasquatch.

I think something along those lines is being pushed by the court of public opinion.

Didn't work.
www.wsj.com...

That bodes well for American businesses.

How about American workers?

But yeah, we want temporary "immigrants." Just don't stay too long.

Yes. It gives them the opportunity to turn down those opportunities.

That's kind of how it works.

No, we will likely find the fabled unicorn, Trump just recently opened dialogue with North Korea, and they are the ones that discovered unicorns.

Still waiting for you to show me that those qualified for the job actually applied for it.

I can't.

I'm not in HR at Mar A Largo. But I know it's real easy to say someone is unqualified for a position. As busboy.

I heard we won't get access to NK's unicorns, but we might get to interview the man they landed on the sun.

So you admit you are posturing based on opinion and have absolutely zero factual evidence to bring to the conversation?

A business has to do what it can to offset costs and turn a profit. Go work somewhere else.

I certainly don't want temporary "immigrants' just here to take money home.

That's my biggest problem with illegal workers.

I want hard working immigrants to become citizens, work, pay taxes, and become productive permanent citizens.

I also want a boat.

Unless I provide an outside source, everything I say here is my opinion. Is that unusual on ATS?

I know that Trump is known to be rather ruthless in his business dealings. I know that he sees the world as a zero sum game.

Based on that, I'm highly skeptical about any of the claims made by any of his companies regarding fairness and following the spirit of the law over expediency.

"Hire American" sounds hollow.

Apparently your opinion is different from mine.

Shouldn't the priority be getting American citizens to be hard working productive members of society, paying taxes etc, surely there are enough unemployed American people out there that should be considered before foreigners.

Indeed. Because the company you want to work for hired someone from out of the country who will take the job for less.
