A very interesting article about how some very wealthy people are planning for the future. That future doesn't look very good to them.

medium.com...

Finally, the CEO of a brokerage house explained that he had nearly completed building his own underground bunker system and asked, “How do I maintain authority over my security force after the event?” For all their wealth and power, they don’t believe they can affect the future.

The Event. That was their euphemism for the environmental collapse, social unrest, nuclear explosion, unstoppable virus, or Mr. Robot hack that takes everything down.

This single question occupied us for the rest of the hour. They knew armed guards would be required to protect their compounds from the angry mobs. But how would they pay the guards once money was worthless? What would stop the guards from choosing their own leader? The billionaires considered using special combination locks on the food supply that only they knew. Or making guards wear disciplinary collars of some kind in return for their survival. Or maybe building robots to serve as guards and workers — if that technology could be developed in time.

For them, the future of technology is really about just one thing: escape.

They were amused by my optimism, but they didn’t really buy it. They were not interested in how to avoid a calamity; they’re convinced we are too far gone. For all their wealth and power, they don’t believe they can affect the future. They are simply accepting the darkest of all scenarios and then bringing whatever money and technology they can employ to insulate themselves — especially if they can’t get a seat on the rocket to Mars.

No, they can fix things just fine. They're just not willing to, and will watch the world burn first before they attempt to reign in their bull# and work towards a better world for more than themselves.

LOL

Any loyalty that can be bought in the first place can be bought again at twice the price.

Its been the gameplan all along,

funnier part, is if you think this is the 1st time.

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!

I mean, wake up, there are definite cycles at play, and little funny that our world is operated the way it is, that their certain " control mechanisms " we all deem as survival, really is a sad fact, that humanity tends to be more greedy than needy when it comes to abundance.

What if it wasn't how we naturally are, what if its just been the way we were " shown " over and over again...

The filthy rich are stupid, as soon as a certain percent of the population turns money completely becomes meaningless, all bought loyalty poofs, and everyone turns against them.

Stockpile all ya want. Is that where billions gets you? Some luxury underground prison?

Meanwhile, I've learned how to hunt, how to build shelters, how to make weapons, how to find water, how to fish, how to discern between edible and inedible local plants, where/what to forage, etc.

Have fun underground. When you come up, you probably won't be welcome.

You betchya .
Folks , even the commoners , have been buying these things up from just before Y2K at a growing rate.
What started the fear ?
Look at Y2K
How did that turn out on the scale of disasters ?
" A fool and his money are soon parted" old saying accounted to many in history

Exactly, if they were smart they would be investing money into schemes that help prevent the collapse... If they did they might just avoid the dirty masses hunting them down and hanging them in the streets.

The pale blue dot photo from 1990 sums it up nicely for me: everything that ever was is contained on one tiny little insignificant speck of dirt and water in a sea of nothingness. Asking billions to suffer so that a few can reap the gains of an entire planet's civilization is short-sighted at best. Sooner or later, all chickens come home to roost.

If I ever become truly wealthy the first god-damned thing I'm gonna do is leave all of you people behind.

Why wouldn't you?

I liked bunkers, I used to watch Archie bunker when I was younger. If the rich want to build themselves bunkers, they are creating jobs anyway. When they get out of those bunkers they will need to work for a living, they do not have that kind of skills, money and rare metals will not have any value. I suppose there will be people coming here to bust open those bunkers of the billionaires after things cool down, they can't leave any witnesses.

Thank you for the read. Yes, I read the full article. Terrifying as usual. Still. what we do as individual humans could possibly get us through anything. Consider this... life on this very planet has endured billions of years of dramatic change, including atmospheric, geologic, temperature, etc.. if a change is (and always is) occurring soon some humans will possibly survive, or perhaps not. if the change is really, really big, humans , even the rich, may not survive at all. If some rich folks do walk out from their bunkers in 10 or 100 years they will probably have a rough go of things, not sure I would want to be part of that.. we all have an expiration date. Lets maybe work and focus on today

I really think these over generalizations are not helpful..

How hard would it be to say,, “some of the wealthy”???

Or “this left/right wing commentator said XYZ..”

It is just inaccurate and helps the propagandists propaganda..

You know - a starship's circlin in the sky - it ought to be ready by 1990
They'll be buildin it up in the air even since 1980
People with a clever plan can assume the role of the mighty
and HIJACK THE STARSHIP
Carry 7000 people past the sun
And our babes'll wander naked thru the cities of the universe
Cmon free minds, free bodies, free dope, free music
the day is on its way the day is ours

Paul's dead now. Or did he pull it off?

in mid-April i was forced to submit to a waking fever-dream of several hours duration.

i saw "the event" from every possible vantage... from the innocent to the entrenched; from the terrified to the meat-grinders in the long-play. a machine so vast as humanity itself and a malevolent will so twisted upon itself that the thought of redemption is trite as a smartees rollup dangling the edge of the bloody slashing belt.

i took a moment to appreciate the fate of those persons described by this article... those trapped in the midst of its implementation and in awe of its inevitability. of course they see it's great day rising and wonder on how to exempt themselves.

the fools.

it's far too late to get out.... at least they can see that much.

They will build there bunkers, there underground city's some with entire park's and day night cycles with simulated sky's, shop's, restaurant's, apartment's and even bar's but it shall be for nothing and they can not escape the coming wrath.

biblehub.com...
biblehub.com...

There is NO escape for them.

There is only one salvation.

Now think on this, if they were to turn around and actually invest there money into finding and creating solution to the world's problem's, using architecture and technology to enable mass food production, create humane housing for the growing population of the world, clean and properly manage the sea's, forest's and land reserves, convert Siberia and the vast Step land into high intensity grain farming which could actually feed the world's population MANY times over.

But NO there is money to be made in scaremongering and planning to commit genocide against there own people just because they have less money.

They did the same when the communists rose to power (sent every working class man they could to the trenches of WW1 in order to try to decimate the population and prevent a socialist uprising), the same when the french removed there king (sent people to the colonies around the world exporting them I believe they called it often against there will simply because they were poor - at least the English did)

I would not worry, we all die and they can never escape there fate, especially since we all also have soul's and there's are well and truly damned.
