Tax the rich (Your 401k) at 50% to give $500-a-month free cash and fix income inequality

Don't you love it when ultra-rich Progressives want to implement taxes on you to give to someone else? It is a dumb idea. If you provide everyone 6K a year, housing will simply go up to take that 6k.

Also, a 50% capital gains and his 50% of income tax would pretty much take our entire 401k's to give to everyone else. What a jackass.

www.cnbc.com...

Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes thinks the government should give cash handouts to people with the lowest incomes in order to fight income inequality.

Hughes, author of “Fair Shot: Rethinking Inequality and How We Earn," is not necessarily a believer in the idea of universal basic income (UBI) which would see a standard cash payment handed out to all citizens no matter their employment status. UBI “is infeasible in America today,” Hughes explained on the podcast, because making payments to everyone in the U.S. is an “unaffordable” proposition.

He proposed that the government pay for the handouts by imposing a 50 percent tax rate on both income and capital gains for any Americans who earn more than $250,000 per year. (Individuals who earn more than $200,000 per year currently have their income taxed at 35 percent, based on the latest tax overhaul.)

How about stop paying towards a trillion per year to the war machine and use that money to fix stuff?

Oh, yeah, they're imperialists too.

Yes, we should just take from those who work and earn and give to those who dont care to work hard. This does nothing but to teach our society that if they dont want to work hard to get any where in life they will simply be taken care of by the rest of society... PFFFT, They should use the money to set up programs for careers to learn a stable trade for people to pursue if they took money from people at all. That teaches them the value of hard work.

And what do the progressive liberals say to do when they run out of other people's money to give away?

Because "providing for the common defense" is in the US Constitution. However, the trillion dollars a year spend on welfare is not.

So , here we have a rich Liberal suggesting to tax the rich to give to the less wealthy.
Although I dont exactly agree with the 50 % income tax (anyone making over $250,000 is most likely in a tax bracket where they already pay close to 50%) , I do agree with the 50% on capitol gains.
Everyone does know what capitol gains are , yes ?

The majority of those who make over $250,000 do no real work. They sit at home, go golfing, attend business meetings. None of which actually adds to the GDP. They make their money off the backs of the working class without paying a fair percentage to the workers.

When the US was founded the 3 braches of the government and all public offices were to be supported soley by landowners, the upper class. The working class paid no taxes and the wealthy paid for all social programs.

Our founding fathers would be disgusted by those who prosper the most through being a part of society refusing to support the society that made them wealthy.

The wealthy class has a responsibility to ensure the success and stability of the system. The elitist of today shun their responsibilities and force the burdern on the worker. The elitist of today want facism not freedom.

But if history is any indication, when the elitist stop holding themselves accountable to the working class, the workers will rise up and in a Socialist movement and take back the wealth that was stolen by those who only wish to exploit humanity for personal gain.

Socialism is always the result of Elitism.

This is the mindset that truly amazes me.

A doctor's starting salary is around $250-300k. Do they really sit at home, go golfing, and attend business meetings?

Sigh...

Except I cant find where it says "providing for the common offense", as thats what the imperialist war machine is used for (that and a titanic black budget to fund robots, AI / AGI, life extension, etc bad juju mad science snip).

Wage controls will not work without price controls. The statist pigs at the helm of Western leftism all know this, and are counting on the failure of the former to implement the latter.

And then you get Venezuela.

Have fun with that.

Attended a private academy, then straight to Harvard and then picked up by Zuckerburg. It looks like he has no real experience other than that of the most elite in this country.

You can be very well educated, have all the money you could want and still be dumb. I think that's the case here. It did give this relatively unknown person some publicity though and perhaps its his opening salvo in a future in politics. He is just as disingenuous as any politician, so he may as well.

Remember this is a guy who was in on the Facebook nonsense of selling everyone's information. These are not good people. At the least he's cementing his connection to the richest of rich who seem to be mostly on the Left these days.

The Democratic Party is now home to the 1% in a very real way. With the rich it's not a Party thing IMO, it's a which side is my butter on sort of thing. These people would switch sides in a heartbeat if the trends change. People like him will spends millions lobbying for tax loopholes so they don't pay anything, with the help of whichever party they happen to be supporting that year. It will swing the other way and the Republican leaders are just as dishonest.

Professional sports doesn't work? The athletes and owners have agreed to wage controls that are based on a percentage of revenue. They have minimum and maximum wages for their employees and the owners are never aloud to take a bigger piece of the pie than what the players deem fair for their risks.

Communism doesn't work. But judging by the overall success of professional sports it would apear wage controls are just fine.

Interesting theory on the pros of a diabolical mass murderous corporate welfare state. Except this seems to SCREAM otherwise:

If there was no sociey how much would a doctor make?

In a small society their is a farmer, blacksmith and doctor, which one is more valuable to their community?

I don't care what your job title is. Less than1 % of the US makes over $250,000 a year, and most of them do nothing like I mentioned. These are the people who benifit the most from society. If they get the most out of society shouldn't they pay to keep the society functioning?

You would think they are the ones who would fear Socialism the most. The end of every elitist societ is Socialism. The ones with the most to lose should be the ones who pay the most to win.
